ARMY NEW YEARS MESSAGE

A new year is upon us.
The Corps today is one that I have not seen in years. You should all be very proud of yourselves. Those who have stayed with us constitute a fine set of veterans and leaders. New members have stepped up and proven themselves worthy of command positions. And some old timers have returned to fan the flames of Imperial might.
You are currently involved in efforts against the false emperor Thrawn. Have no doubts, this man's ego is only matched by his greed. Reuniting the Empire is a worthy goal, but while this supposed Grand Admiral was off galavanting in the Unknown Regions, we were here. Here fighting the Rebellion. Here holding back the excesses of Palpatine. Here restoring order. Here thwarting anarchy and terrorism. Here.
We've been off on the fringe ourselves these past few years, whilst the warlords and Rebels fought it out in the Core. However, we weren't hiding and pretending to be brilliant strategists. We were rearming, regrouping, and reviving our strength.
We have regular army units nearly as fierce as stormtroopers. We have you, stormtroopers who could likely challenge Royal Guards for their skill and dedication. The bodies of pirates, warlords, Rebels, and, yes, sadly, other Imperials have given us the training required to perform our rightful mission.
I ask you to commit yourselves to total war. We have advanced in recent years. Moorja. Bestine. Devaron. We have conquered for our expansion. We have aided those who wish to return to the Imperial fold. We have assisted others who wish to remain neutral in a galaxy gone mad.
Now we are in striking range of the Core. We will not make it this year, but we can chart our path to Coruscant from here. We have our enemies. The "New Republic", Thrawn and his lackeys, the independent warlords, the pirates and smugglers, the Hutts. And dangers yet to appear.
We will confront them all directly. And obliquely. I promise to send you where you can be used most. To restore order and vanquish our foes. To save the galaxy from the forces of chaos and megalomania.
You will build this new chapter in the history of the Vast Empire. I hope you make the most of it. I hope we provide you the means to provide all the activity you can give us.
