Basics[edit]

A modified CR-90 Corellian Corvette owned by Sniping101 and operated by an entirely all too mysterious crew. The ship was revealed in hopes of using it as a staging area for both Squad operations and Snipes personal endeavors. The actual origins of both the ship and the crew are unknown as well as the exact time at which Snipes acquired such a ship.

Upkeep and maintenance is payed for through a combination of piracy, smuggling and scam work taken upon by the crew when they are not in use by Snipes. The crew have been suspected of working as independent salvage, freight, courier and even policing contractors as well.

  • Note: The CR-90 Corellian Corvette under Snipes ownership is currently being modified to further fit his needs(and wants).

Crew[edit]

The ship is crewed by roughly one hundred fifty people of backgrounds known only to each other and Snipes. The ship is captained by a female human known as Visha, she's dark skinned with snow white hair, a sharp face, golden eyes and a pinkish, almost white scar over her left eye.

The crew is strangely loyal to Snipes and their enigmatic Captain Visha. Why this is so, no one in the Vast Empire exactly knows. The group is well ordered for an independent ship, what governs the protocol and discipline of her crew is unknown, but they work with an almost military precision. The crew is mostly human, although there are a few non-humans in the mix. Their dress and manner suggest that a good majority of them are probably corellian.

In addition to the crew that runs the ship there are five squads of what they refer to as 'boarding parties'. Each squad is made up of twelve beings, each squad is divided into three fire teams with one overall leader and each fireteam possessing it's own leader. While all but one of these squad specialize in boarding actions and close quarters combat they have enough experience to be able to operate at average or above average standards on a planets surface. The fifth squad is made up of only nine men, each working in three man teams. The squads are as follows:

  • Fortune Seekers: The very best of the Hound's complement at forcing entry or destroying hard targets. Consider Laughing Bastards their rivals and try to one up them at every turn. Lead by a "Mirkov Wave". Prefers blasters and high explosives. Definitely the greediest of the lot.
  • Laughing Bastards: Anti-personnel gods, this group is known for strange, obscure and frightening tactics, with no reverence for anything and a great love of creating blood soaked corridors these men can be counted on to deliver a bloodbath. Without a doubt the most laid back and carefree of the lot, enjoy a friendly rivalry with Fortune Seekers, although they laugh at Fortune Seekers attempts to judge success in credits and not blood. Snipes personal favorite. Led by "Gregory Kelevra"
  • Blade Team: Big. It's always first word to describe the members of the group. Next usually comes "Scary". They wear some of the heaviest armor available in the galaxy and carry some rather intimidating melee weapons from which their name is derived. Their only real job is to be absolutely terrifying. They're often the first ones onto a boarded ship, charging in and waving swords, cutlasses, axes, hammers and various other frightening bits of weaponry around. They aren't especially effective in combat, just around average, although some of the team will wield a vibro-sword in their off hand and a blaster in their other. Still effective to break an enemies moral through sheer fright. Snipes, having no especial love of melee weapons, finds them hilarious; but must admit they're effective. Led by "Marcus 'Blade' Torlen".
  • Queens of Madness: Whether by chance or design this is a squad made up entirely of females. Effective at the standard forms of combat encountered by Corellian Hound. They don't excel especially in one area, but are instead quite effective in most if not all. Constantly creep Snipes and even their own crew members out when in battle gear thanks to thier penchant for wearing strangely painted ballistic masks.. Led by "Corlie 'Queen Bitch' Flaggen"
  • Skeleton Pirates: The only squad that specializes specifically in ground based warfare. This squad rarely, if ever, operates as an entire squad, instead they are split up into four teams of three and each team works independently as scouts. They are adept at gathering battlefield intelligence and returning it safely to their commander in a speedy and professional manner. When the squad does work as a whole they can cover massive amounts of ground and co-ordinate amongst themselves. Definitely superior in recon work to many military's equivalent units. Can closely be analogized to Special Forces. The best the Hound has to offer. Led by no one in particular.

Capabilities[edit]

  • This is a draft currently. The exact details about the ships configuration are still being worked out.

Armament:

The ship falls into the middle area for Corvette's, it is not as lightly armed as the base model, nor is it as heavily armed as the full military model. It has Four dual turbo-laser's and two quads. Along the dorsal area on the sides two of the standard turbo lasers were replaced with ion cannons and a tractor beam was added under the bridge area with enough power to temporarily stall most ships of the same class. It features one unique feature. That is a small 'fin' or 'spoiler' on both the upper and lower portions of the engine 'block'. on each is mounted a set of small laser turrets designed to discourage attackers from moving into the blind spot behind the corvette. Theses turrets can be controlled from both the bridge or one of the weapons control rooms and double as ground support when the need arises. The mini-hanger has been slightly modified to allow the insertion and use of a missile rack or bomb bay.

Interior:

Has had a few modifications, although limited. The aft conference room was removed to make room for more cargo and the brig was removed to extend the communications center and add a workshop.

Speed:

Through various salvaged, stolen and on the rare occasion purchased parts and upgrades the ships speed capabilities have greats been increased. Possibly reaching speeds of 90+ MGLT when fully powered up. The hyperdrive is thought to reach roughly x1.2, although due to the setup the exact speed has not been determined. The ship also boasts one of the most state of the art navigation systems available allowing it to make calculations roughly twice as fast as most ships of the same class, this gives the ability to enter hyperspace long before perusers could finish calculating their own jump, much less possible jumps of the Hound.

Cargo: The cargo hold has been extended into the aft conference room, effectively doubling the space available.

Passengers:

Most passenger amenities have been removed, instead the ship is configured to hold up to twenty passengers if some are willing to submit themselves to cramped conditions, it comfortably holds just over ten.

Shielding:

The ships shielding recieved a small boost in the upgrade, however little improvement over the stock setup was really necessary.

Role[edit]

The ships major function is as a quick attack ship, meant to operate with both hit and fade tactics and attack and capture tactics. However it is not a dedicated war machine and while the prowess and experience of the crew and captain can help it against most better armed adversaries it still will cannot be expected to perform the role of a gunship.

When engaging in piracy the ship usually jumps into a system and quickly accelerates on the target, first a warning is given to the target, if they do not comply the pair of ion turrets quickly pound them into submission. It then sends a message to a freighter which micro-jumps into the system and loads the cargo, then the two ships take vastly different routes back to wherever it is that they regroup. The Hound is capable of hauling some amount of cargo and has at times carried a container coupled to the underside to carry their ill gotten gains in.

When used for policing, or to whittle away a policing force, the ship jumps into the system, uses it's speed to place it in an enemies blind spot and hails it with fire, often before the target knows what's going on. When the target has been suitably damaged they jump out of the system as quickly as they came.

Usually they refrain from taking on more than one or two ships at a time due to the armament constrictions and the lack of any suitable method for protecting the engines from a determined adversary.

While it may seem like the ship is owned and ran by Sniping101, in truth he is more of a crew member than most people on the ship. He remains Captain so long as he acts like the captain. The crew are loyal to him so long as he is worth being loyal to. Because of these circumstances Snipes is particularly loath to use the ship, despite that it is at his beck and call.
