Flamingo The Hutt

History[edit]

Flamingo was never what one would call an 'average' Hutt. Though he enjoyed wealth and power just like anyone else, he chose to display it in a very unorthodox method: dressing up as a female of his species as a show of power: no-one dared to mock the up-and coming Hutt for his strange appearance. A member of the Desilijic clan, he grew up on Tatooine, under the shadow of the twin suns. Seeing a unique opportunity in the scavenging talents of the Jawas, Flamingo used guile and deceit in order to gain the loyalty of a Jawa clan. His business acumen and contacts, combined with the legendary talents of the Weekkata clan, made for a highly successful 'restored goods' business.

However, when his clan leader, Jabba, was killed in 4ABY, Flamingo came to the realization that crime did not, in fact, pay, and decided to turn his business legitimate - although this merely meant that intimidation was done using lawyers instead of thugs, and the Weekkata clan became even better at the whole 'not getting caught' thing. Eventually, Flamingo and his crew signed on with the Vast Empire as a complete fighter pit team, and though troopers and pilots complain about small items going missing, the fighters they maintain are all in excellent condition, and quickly repaired.

Seeing a massive, cross-dressing Hutt shouting at a whole tribe of squabbling Jawas as they crawl over a damaged TIE Interceptor is truly a sight to see.

Personality[edit]

Flamingo lives large and loud. His booming voice echoes through the hangar as he bellows out orders, encouragement and threats in equal measure to his crew, managing to maintain a surprisingly high level of discipline from the Jawas under his command. That he is a bully is beyond doubt: All Hutts are, but Flamingo at least respects the chain of command, and values his fighter pilots highly. Surprisingly, the flamboyant Hutt is something of a mother figure to the Squadron, and is someone they can talk to.

He does not, however, take kindly to strangers, and he especially dislikes it when people mess with what he considers his 'assets': The Weekkata clan, the 50th Squadron and the equipment assigned to it are not something that it would be wise to endanger, as the Hutt maintains a powerful physique and will happily pound any threat to his legitimate business into submission.

He has an odd way of speaking, referring to himself as a 'she' and speaking in a way that can only be described as 'fabulous'. The fact that Flamingo has a loving wife and two healthy children back on Tatooine only serves to increase the enigmatic, eccentric image that he works so hard to maintain.
