Physical Description: Robert Messine is a tall, rather thin individual, with very fair, almost pale skin. His blue-grey eyes always give the impression that they are soaking up the surrounding stimuli, and his movements are brisk and clipped. His clothing is always sharp and snappy, and he is rather obsessive about ensuring his uniform is always immaculately presented, giving the impression that he is conscientious and dedicated to the uniform. He likes to sit leaning back with legs crossed, but always stands up rather straight when he's upright. Although not immensely muscly, he does have a surprising wiry strength in his arms, and frequently appears to be more physically imposing than he actually is. He usually prefers dark, conservative clothing when off-duty.

Emotional Description: Robert Messine is a rather shy, almost painfully introverted person. He often gives the impression of being asocial, and usually keeps his own counsel on people and their actions. He often appears to have difficulty opening up to people about his private thoughts and emotions, Stoic, is a word that could properly describe him. In spite of this, if a person earns his trust, he will be a most loyal friend and ally, quick to defend and protect those whom he feels are important to him. Whilst not the most sociable individual, he has a rather flat, deadpan and sarcastic sense of humor. His extremely literate nature gives him a broad general knowledge, but he will usually not show off such knowledge unless specifically asked to do so by superiors. Messine suffers fools poorly, and usually the only thing that will get him to speak up is if he believes a particularly stupid or foolhardy decision is about to be made that will put everybody else in danger. He usually prefers to remain in his bunk, reading or catching up on simulation practice, but he will attend social functions if absolutely necessary. Despite this, he is generally uncomfortable with crowds and large numbers of people in social situations, and will find it difficult to converse, making 'small-talk' as it were, with others. He is always happiest in the cockpit of a starfighter.

History: Born on Corellia during the height of Palpatine's Empire, the young Robert Messine appeared to have a bright future ahead of him. Although introverted and shy, he was well-known for his exceptional memory and prodigious intellect, able to recall vast reams of information that he had read or heard, seemingly at will. Despite his rather unsocial nature, his high test scores enabled him to enroll as a cadet for CORSEC, the Corellian Security Force, at the age of 15. He graduated within three years, becoming a part of CORSEC's Fighter divisions, hunting down pirates, terrorists and other criminals who made that sector their home. He soon became renowned for his aggressive, predatory tactics in the cockpit, and a high kill count, which earned him the respect and fear of the lawless throughout the Corellian System. Because of the predatory way he hunted criminals in combat, and his aloof, solitary disposition, he was nicknamed, 'The Wolf.'

Young Messine seemed to have it all, a good career and reputation, crack skills in the cockpit, and a bright future. This became even more so when he met a young woman, Serana, who was one of the few people he felt comfortable around. Eventually they became a couple, and the young Robert Messine was a hit in Corellia's social life, at least for a while.

But jealousy and ambition put an end to Messine's promise. Jealous of Serana's affection for Robert, and his growing reputation as a skilled and capable pilot, a former rival of his from the CORSEC got back at the young Messine. Three years ago, Serana was murdered, just as the two had been about to publicly announce their engagement. Devastated, Messine resigned from CORSEC, after it refused to investigate his claim that one of their agents was responsible.

Messine decided to hunt solo for the killer, waiting for a moment when he could take his vengeance without CORSEC realising it. It took him almost two years, but eventually, he snatched his target after he was separated from his fighter squadron during a patrol run. Messine took the murderer to an abandoned hideout on the planet, and, in a night of vicious torture, made his former friend and rival suffer for the death of Serana. Exactly what Messine did to the man is not officially recorded, for CORSEC has classified the case files as "unfit for public consumption". What is known is that, after a night of torture, Messine finally vindicated his desire for vengeance, killing the man who had murdered his love and ruined his life.

Now hunted by both his former colleagues in CORSEC and the lawless members of the System, who sought revenge on Messine for his successes in hunting them, Robert Messine disappeared from the Corellian System. For a year, he appeared to completely drop off the Galactic Map, no further sightings of him were recorded.

Until recently, he has resurfaced in the space of the Vast Empire. Far enough away from Corellia to be safe from reprisals, he decided he needed to find a permanent home. He quickly came to the realisation that the VE was in need of fighter pilots, which Robert's experience in CORSEC made him ideal for. He signed onto the Vast Empire Navy, enrolling at the Academy. As a tribute to his original nickname, he took on the callsign "GreatWolf."
