Personality[edit]

On the outside, Reiko could be easily described as a kind and caring individual; her shyness and quiet behavior often giving her the appearance of a Yamato Nadeshiko. Her closest friends have often referred to her as very moe at times, often to the confusion of others. However, like all members of her kind, once her beserk button is pressed, nothing will stand in her way and her vicious tendencies.

Despite the fact that she comes from the same planet as her friend Kilroy, because they came from two different cultures, they are practically exact opposites of each other in terms of beliefs. Unlike the pragmatic monotheism that resides in her Cadian counterpart, Reiko is a firm believer in spiritualism and is a practitioner of Shintoism. Ironically despite this difference which has often caused conflict in the past, Reiko has ever increasingly become assertive in her relationship with her fellow citizen of Rhyza.

History[edit]

The second daughter of Shiro and Misato Nagase, Reiko was born to a life that would be filled with ideals, conflict, and of spiritual beliefs. Throughout her childhood, she had spent most of her time at home under the tutelage of her father, learning the ways of Kyokushin with her friend Victor Danilov. At the age of ten, she got into her first actual fight outside of the dojo, an event that brought immense trauma as she had accidently sent two older kids into the hospital with severe injuries. Since then her once tomboyish attitude withdrew into a more timid and gentler one as Reiko recovered from such an incident. Despite this, she continued in her martial arts studies and reached the level of a 1st Dan black belt before her final year of high school.

During her first year at Vertex Engineering Academy, she met and befriended the Varl twins, both of whom had recently finished their terms of service within the Kasrkin Home Guard. As time went on and their relationships grew, Reiko began to feel a sense of camaraderie with the more eccentric twin John; the lingering effects of emotional trauma and shock that they both hid from others had somehow attuned their psyche to one another. Due to this particular bond, when her now childhood friend and the twins announced their intentions to join the Vast Empire’s services via enlistment and Green-to-White Program (A program designed to integrate former members from either service into the other) respectively, she followed suit.

Her service to the Vast Empire had been a rollercoaster of sorts to her; she made and lost several friends from her time in basic, all of which helped the formation of Galm squad. The time spent as a Galm member lasted for well over two years, a time in which Reiko saw her childhood friend Victor severely wounded, something that would have caused her to fall into despair if it wasn’t for the support and care she received from Kilroy. After Thyveck, Reiko continued to serve alongside her Blackjack counterparts as an attached trooper in several missions before Galm’s ranks were then filled with new faces and new traditions. While both her comrades would continue to serve despite the original Galm team being separated, the Fenrisian had now found herself in Valiant squad, serving once again with her closest confidant and fellow Rhyzan compatriot.
