Bio[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Karash will always try to give the impression that he is a sophisticated and intelligent individual. However due to his neurotic nature he will often look as though he is in a panic.

Personality[edit]

Karash is generally a quiet person that does not enjoy the company of people he does not know well; in fact he will often completely ignore a person if he does not know them. Even with people he knows Karash will often seem defensive, rude, untrusting and sometimes cruel. However the people, who know him well, know that he does his best to help others when they need it and his sarcasm is merely a mechanism to prevent him from getting hurt. Due to his upbringing Karash will often appear snobbish and arrogant though this is unintentional and something he tries to suppress. He will often pass a comment on something before he had realised what he is doing.

Skills[edit]

  • Karash is a medic.
  • Karash is used to dealing with demanding and over-bearing people.
  • Karash prefers to use a pistol rather than a rifle.
  • Karash has learned to present a calm exterior, even when he is in meltdown.

History[edit]

Childhood[edit]

Karash Norgath was born into a family of wealthy and powerful Kuati businessmen and politicians; the Norgath’s were a well respected family who where known for their ruthlessness and uncompassionate nature when it came to business. Karash’s father was a cold and distant man who appeared to care more for his business than his family but this was not wholly true. Mallor loved his wife and children but the ever increasing demands of the business world made it more and more difficult for him to relate with them. Ninuerta was the exact opposite of her husband, she was warm and loving, and everybody appeared to love Ninuerta; this became very obvious to her sons later on. Karash’s brother (Mallor Jr) was the exact opposite of Karash; he was funny, popular and physically strong but there was no resentment between the two. Mal, as he was known, would look after Karash but could also be very selfish.

Karash remembers few major events from his childhood, likely to be because they are so hurtful he will not let himself remember them. However a few events are still in the very forefront of his mind; when he was ten years old a series of blazoning arguments erupted between Mallor and Ninuerta, they would scream at each for hours and it went on like that for days. Until, without warning, they stopped and life appeared to return to normal... but that did not last for very long either. One day Karash and his brother were pulled out of school early and taken to their house where Mallor was waiting for them; this was the one and only time that Karash saw his father show any other emotion than rage. Mallor was stood clutching a picture of Ninuerta, he had visibly been crying, the two boys slowly walked up to their father not knowing that their lives would soon be ripped apart. This is where Karash’s memory blurs into nothingness; he remembers being told his mother had been missing for the past few days, the boys were told she was visiting friends, they were told her body had been found, they cried, they stood in a damp graveyard and watched a box be lowered into the ground and then life returned to normality. Karash would later learn that his mother had had an affair with one of Mallor’s associates; this was the cause of the arguments preceding her death. He also learned that his father had forgiven his mother and they were planning on moving away from their current lives but with Ninuerta’s death that dream died.

After his wife’s death Mallor lost any humanity that he had left, his only comfort came from alcohol and his children became nothing more than painful memories of his lost love. Mallor’s business continued to grow but this only brought memories of how he was supposed to have given it up and how it now appeared to be taunting him. With their mother gone and their father only being there to beat them, Karash and Mal became even closer, depending on one another for support. Although Mallor despised his children he still needed Mal to be his heir and therefore took a special interest in making sure his eldest son was always ‘at the top’ in school. Mal came to resent this and rebelled against having to become the next leader of the business, he did not want to end up like his father. This came to a head one afternoon when Mal told his father that he did not wish to join the business, the situation quickly developed into something far more serious. Karash tried to placate the two but a scuffle ensued and he was knocked unconscious, he woke up several hours later to find his brother gone and his father in a drunken comatose state. Mal was not seen again for ten years, in which time he had become a drug addicted criminal that owed a lot of money to a lot of people. After this Mallor did not even bother to abuse Karash anymore, the two lived almost independent lives and in many ways it was during those few years that he was happiest.

The last major event of Karash’s early life was the death of his father. Karash had become a reclusive and spent most of his time studying, though his father forced into an insignificant role in the family business. It was while he was sat reading that his cousin Herrick (who held a senior role within the business) informed his that his father had been found dead in a hotel room whilst away on business. This was not like when his mother died, he remembered every detail as though he was watching from afar; he identified his father’s body (Mallor had committed suicide but to save embarrassment it was classed as natural causes), he organised a funeral that was attended by a serious of business men and important individuals who had only turned up to make sure Mallor was dead and then he was completely alone. There had always been someone else with him, even it was his cruel father, but now he was completely alone and in charge of successful and demanding business. Karash could not cope with the stresses of business life and quickly handed over the day-to-day running of the business over to Herrick. Not long after that Karash allowed Herrick to take charge of the family estate and business completely (though he would still officially be in control); he needed to find his place in the universe and a sense of being needed. After some time travelling Karash joined the Vast Empire hoping to find that sense of home he had always searched for.

Recent History[edit]

Karash is a touch neurotic with a dash of apathy rolled into a confused shell of someone who cares about his squad mates yet HATES that he cares about his squad mates

Karash had an uneventful time in the Academy; he was not a skilled fighter, vehicle crewman or rifleman. Leaving the Academy, regretting his decision to join the army, Karash was placed in RAIDERS squad and he quickly realised that any future he was going to have in the military would be one fraught with trouble; little did he know how right he was. It was in his early days with the RAIDERS that Karash realised that his true calling was as a medic, this was once again something that would be highly important during his time with the squad (in fact the only squad he has served with). Within the first few weeks of being in RAIDERS squad Karash met another trooper fresh out of the academy, Grahim was a Gungan that in terms of personality was the exact opposite of Karash. He was loud, overbearing and seemingly rude, despite this the two became friends and for much of the time Grahim was the only person willing to interact with Karash at all, no matter how nasty he would be.

After a few months another key person in Karash’s army life joined the RAIDERS squad, Havock, was in Karash’s own words “a one woman death zone”. It was the many times that Karash had to save her from injury that his knowledge of medical procedure became even more refined. Over the years that the two served together, with her rising to greater positions, he has become to both deeply respect and utterly loathe her.

After serving with the squad for almost a year Karash’s life was changed dramatically when he began to hear the voice of his dead father inside his head. The voice would mock and mentally abuse the trooper, just as his father had in the past, it drove Karash to insanity and he ended up being placed into an institution. He does not member much of his time in the secure unit as he was given powerful drugs to help his condition, though not there long Karash does occasionally remember some events in that place; they are not happy ones. After leaving the secure unit he was given several more weeks of therapy where he was forced to work through his issues. Though never being fully cure Karash no longer hears the voices, they were replaced by his highly critical ‘inner voice’; this inner voice often seems to be a separate consciousness to Karash.

After rejoining the RAIDERS Karash’s life seemed to be getting back to normal, until the events of one mission that saw his old friend, Grahim, fatally wounded and he was forced to give the Gungan a lethal dose of painkillers. This drove Karash to near insanity once again but he was pushed over the edge by the re-emergence of Grahim, who had in fact not died as Karash had missed diagnosed and failed to inject enough painkillers. He did not go through the same problems as last time, with the mental illness, but he did lose all confidence in his ability as a soldier and had himself transferred to the medical corps. He did not find himself to be fulfilled in that position but stuck with it nonetheless, until one day a senior officer requested that Karash be attached to the RAIDERS for evaluation. It was during this time that he once again found himself being drawn into the issues of the squad and by the end of the mission he had transferred to them permanently. By now things in RAIDERS were once again shifting, Joamer was now the squad leader and Jaenna had returned as assisstant, there was also a series of new troops being placed in the squad. This made Karash feel slightly alienated from the group, for the first time he did not feel as though he was part of the squad. However after the group went through a number of ordeals he once again realised that his place and position in the squad was secure albeit altered slightly.

The RAIDERS once again went through a period of massive change that culminated in the squad being closed and Karash was placed in a Strike Team called Wraith. Whilst on his first mission with the Team Karash was called from active service, in part due to his own request. He spent a number of months in various administrative positions within the military but as always, he became bored. For a short time he did consider leaving the military permanently but he decided that he would not be able to re-enter civilian life, as he never fitted in that well to begin with. It was about this time that Karash received the news that Wildcard Platoon was to be reopened and that he could once again join RAIDERS. However he chose not to, instead he joined Blackjack. He had never been in a squad other than the RAIDERS but he decided that he needed to move on and that meant joining a different squad. In Blackjack there were a few familiar faces though his former RAIDER squad-mate, Skarr, was the only person he actually knew (Skarr was the SL).

This takes Karash up to the here and now

Family and Friends[edit]

Mallor Norgath [edit]

Karash's father as a young man

Mallor Norgath IV was born in a time of great instability within the Norgath family business. His Grandfather had established the business and his father had made great improvements but there was still the possibility for so much more. As a young man Mallor was the envy of every other man on Kuat, he was popular, handsome and rich; as well as the fact he could have any woman he wanted. When it came to it, he chose his childhood sweetheart Ninuerta and married her before he was twenty-one.

Once married, Mallor’s first child appeared soon after and as was tradition the child was named after his father. Two years after Junior, as he was now known, was born Mallor’s father died suddenly which left Mallor in control of the business. The business instantly took over Mallor’s life and as it rose to new heights, his family life withered. Mallor’s wife tried desperately to regain her childhood love but in his place a cold and stern man now stood. This was around the time that Karash was born.

Karash's father at time of death

Five years after Karash was born Ninuerta died after a tragic accident in Kuat city, when Mallor was informed he locked himself in his room and was not seen for one week. When he emerged, Mallor seemed to have lost what little humanity he had left and darkness seemed to engulf him. Mallor drove everyone away from him, until only Karash remained to face his father’s abuse. Whilst away on a business trip Mallor was found in his room, dead. Although officially reported as dying as a result of alcohol poising, it is suspected Mallor committed suicide.

Ninuerta Norgath [edit]

Karash's mother
Ninuerta or Ni as most knew her was the daughter of a much loved politician and was fully expected to follow in her parents footsteps. However she fell in love with Mallor, who was not considered as good enough by Ni’s parents; when she announced that she was to marry Mallor, her parents disowned her and never saw her again. Life with her new husband and son all seemed too good to last and so it was.

Mallor inherited the family business from his father and threw himself into his new role, seemingly forgetting his young family. In reality Mallor was only doing this for his wife and son but lost sight of this as time went on. By the time Ni’s second son, Karash, was born she could have anything she wanted in the universe, except he husband. This is why she tried to convince her husband to sell the business and return to his family.

Just as Mallor planned to sell the business, Ni was attacked whilst out shopping in Kuat city and died from her injuries; it is widely suspected that the extended Norgath family had something to do with her death.

Mallor "Junior" Norgath [edit]

Junior
Mallor Norgath V or Junior as most knew him was destined to become the next owner of the Norgath family business. However he dreamed of becoming a celebrity and could never face up to any real responsibilities. He led a childhood of recklessness and mischief, though he always remained the jewel in his father’s crown. However once his mother had died, Junior lost any hope of realising his dreams.

One afternoon Junior confronted his father with his ambitions; this resulted in Junior’s disappearance from the family for over a decade. Junior spent these years as a common criminal and made many enemies that would come back to haunt him and his estranged family. After gangsters had threatened Karash and the Norgath family business, Junior and his massive debts returned to the family. Karash dealt with Juniors’ debts but found it difficult to forgive his brother for leaving him.

Junior now spends his days lounging around the Norgath estate, slowly but surely eating away at the families’ fortune.

Herrick Norgath [edit]

Herrick
Herrick Norgath is the son of Mallor IV’s brother and was an employee of the business for many years. He currently serves as the company’s Chief Executive and was appointed by Karash once he left to join the Vast Empire. Herrick is one of the few remaining Norgath’s that Karash likes, as he does not show the qualities that many of the other family members show.
