Operation: Typhus

History[edit]
Mission Brief[edit]
“ | At the behest of Grand Admiral Japheth, a Task Force Typhus was also created with the intent of heading straight to the Ios system. Their main goal was to investigate the situation in force, but also retake the system if possible. They would travel along the eastern frontier, and arrive from roughly the same direction as any would-be attacker. | ” |
— Taken From The Log of Ibram Tyrol |
Much like Nazgul and Kaph Squadron's and their respective Operations, Viper Squadron has been sent to the Ios System to discover the fate of Ios Imperial Garrison. With the rumor of enemy forces in the Yetton System, Taskforce: Typhus was arranged to go to the Ios System as the Ios System was the only hyperspace route that any passenger can take out of Vast Empire space to enter the Yetton System. As this is a blind operation and NAVCOM has no idea if the Garrison still exists, Typhus was formed with a huge number of ships and squadrons, in case of a large enemy force. The Ios System would soon be battle struck.
Ios Imperial Garrison[edit]
The Ios Imperial Garrison was a listening outpost similar to the Yetton System's Outpost Viverro. The Garrison holds a large garrison of ships for security:
Ios Imperial Garrison
- 2 Golan II defence platforms - Captured, semi-operable
- 1 Rendili StarDrive Oribital Construction Dock(modified) - captured
- 1 Victory-class Star Dreadnoughts
- 3 Carrack-class light cruisers
- 2 Strike-class cruisers
- 2 Lancer-class Frigates
- 6 TIE Squadrons (2 Interceptor, 2 Fighter, 1 Bomber, 1 Scout)
Mission Objectives[edit]
- To find the fate of the Imperial Garrison
- To secure the system
Outcome[edit]
The outcome was Vast Empire retreat from the system, but it is counted as a victory. This is because the two Imperial II-Class Star Destroyers that were in system retreated at the arrival of Taskforce Iron Sweep.
