RAIDERS is the Vast Empire's Unconventional Warfare squad. Harassing citizens near you.

Unconventional Warfare
Yes, we play dirty. Our objectives cover a broad spectrum of military and paramilitary operations. These assignments place us behind enemy lines, gaining the trust of the people then dismantling them from within. Tactics may include destroying non-military infrastructure and blockading civilian staples which is used to decrease the morale of civilians and, when applicable, soldiers in the field through concern for their families. Unconventional Warfare includes, but is not limited to, guerrilla warfare, subversion, sabotage, and intelligence activities.
[edit] Urbex ~ A RAIDERS Trooper's Training
The RAIDERS not only live and run by their use of Unconventional Warfare, but they hold onto a wide spectrum of training that is put to use in various ways that can also be categorized into something that has been given the title of 'Urbexing'. Many ask what this is, even more ask what the purpose is. It is simply the title given to the group who carry the talents and knowledge of a handful of Specialties. The missions that the RAIDERS are sent on most always need most if not all of this handful of abilities. They can be thrust into an unknown part of the 'verse and given the task of scouting out and noting each and everything thing about it. They can be tossed onto a planet with possible hostiles and told to figure it out, take out the hostiles and claim that bit for the Empire. They can be thrown into an abandoned city and told to map it out. Secrecy, strength, smarts. All of it combines into what the RAIDERS are good at.
The training that is required by all RAIDERS troopers is based on the puddle of Specs that are classified as Urbex. The list is below. RAIDERS are expected to complete each one.

Close Combat (A5) "Troopers can apply for this short course on close combat training. This is a short and brutal course aimed at giving troopers an experience of battlefield combat. No specific martial art is taught, instead a trainer will teach groups of pupils how to disable an opponent as quickly as possible using any tools to hand or the environment. "
"Troopers will spend several days with one of our toughest sergeants learning how to put down an enemy solider face to face. After a day of demonstrations and practice troopers will spend the rest of the time in brutal sparring sessions with their fellow students to give them some applicable experience.
Single 1000 word story in which the trooper should focus on a sparring session and how they apply what they have learned. "

Data Files contain important information and Character Development for each character. It is edited weekly/biweekly by each member of the squad so that they can keep track of their characters feelings, emotions, and state of mind easily. It also helps to keep other squad members informed of their squad mate's behaviors.
Senior Sergeant Jaenna (SL)
Species: Human
Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Green star tattoo under her left eye.
Personality Profile:
- Sarcastic and offensive, Jae always seems to know what to say in order to make herself laugh, but quite possibly offend everyone else.
- She is confident and cocky, never ready to admit that something may be wrong. Her confidence getting her through situations that would seem dark to others, but her cockiness getting her into trouble.
- She's smart and knows when to keep her mouth shut. She may be cocky but she wouldn't say something she definitely knows she shouldn't.
- A born Slicer, her mind is always full of technical babble and she's always to play with her skills. She will even tinker with stuff just for fun and try out stuff she's never done before just for the hell of it.
- Jae will withdraw into herself should she become upset in any way. She does this because of her anxiety issues and fears that if she doesn't withdraw she will end up having a more drastic anxiety attack.
- Jae smokes spice at least once every day in order to keep her anxiety ridden mind calm and level, and to satisfy the addiction she has developed. Since she has recently lessened the amount she smokes by a LOT she may snap a bit, but she has a hold of her anger otherwise.
- When not on spice, or when she's gone too long without smoking, she will become shaky and will be easy to upset in any way. Should this go on too long, or if she is unable to find something to make her happy again, she will fall into a withdrawal attack that can become violent.
- Her Squad is her family. Despite the sarcasm and how she may poke fun at them she will always do what she can to care for them and make sure they are safe.

Senior Sergeant Karash
Species: Human
Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Short hair, Dark red eyes, generally flustered look.
Personality Profile:
- Karash does not suffer fools gladly, he is often sarcastic and seemingly uncaring but this is all a facade as he finds no greater pleasure than in helping others when they need help.
- Karash likes to believe he is slightly better than everyone else when it comes to social ranking although he does realize this often (if not always) means absolutely nothing; though he can not stand to see this trait in others.
- He does not enjoy being around new people and it takes time before he trusts, respects or even likes them.
- Currently Karash is unsure of what he feels about the squad, he can see that there is the potential for great things but at the same time he can see the potential for disaster. A part of him wants to return to the old days.
Relationships
- Jaenna: Has served with her for a number of years in different forms. He respects Jae greatly on a professional level but thinks some of her personal actions are reckless. Karash is currently very concerned about his new SL, he is unsure whether she is able to do the job properly. He believes her spice use will cause more problems than it solves.
- Heliwer: He does not have strong feelings for the man either way. Karash does not like the developing relationship between Heliwer and Xylonia.
- Mox: A state of uncertainty exists between the two.
- Xylonia: Is unsure of the newer member of the squad. He can see many similarities with former squad members and is unsure whether this is a good or bad thing. He believes that the relationship she shares with Heliwer is just a means to an end. A way to cover up deeper emotional problems.
- Others: Either too complicated or not worth mentioning.

- He does not use any specific personal weapons regularly. However he does carry as many medical supplies as he can.
Private Second Class Dusk
Species: Human
Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Medium Length shaggy blonde hair, robotic right arm with vibroblade inside, and a scar across his lower right cheek.
Personality Profile:
- Dusk is the type that doesn't give out his trust generously, you will have to earn it.
- Hates Pirates, smugglers, and all rebel dissidents.
- Tries to be friendly to new squad members.
- Will somtimes bend the rules if he feels it will help the squad in the future.
Relationships
- Joamer: Respects, misses dearly.
- Jaenna: Dispises, will probably not follow her orders unless he feels it's what Joamer would do.
- Heliwer: Trusts.
- Coadster: Likes, but feels animosity towards. Due to his quick rise through the ranks
- Karash: Dislikes , but is starting to warm up to him.
- Xylonia: Feels affectionate towards, will try to protect her.
- Others: Meh.

Private First Class Roy "Mox" Kerrolin
Species: Human
Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Brown, short-cut hair. Silent movement. Cybernetic arm(left). Very fast.
Personality Profile:
- Prefers to kill his enemies silently, and will always try to find a way not to fight openly.
- Has no moral problem when carrying out orders. Will not kill if he's told not to, although he will wound the opponent in some way, not allowing him to function properly, e.g. cutting his eyes or crushing his leg. (He is not a mindless maniac and will not kill pointlessly)
- Learned his place as a squad member(not leader), though occasional commands may be said.
- Trusts his squad for life-to-death situations, will attempt to save most of them
- If a big firefight began he will attempt to end it with explosives(either grenade launcher, or grenades)
Relationships
Relationships are set in a priority order: most important to Mox are higher than those at the bottom(by important is meant strong feelings like hatred, love, friendship, etc. but also fear and respect)
- Heliwer: Hates with passion. Will not help him unless instructed to. Happy to leave him for dead.
- Jaenna(SL): Respects, will follow orders. Isn't suprised about her drug abuse, based on her behaviour.
- Xylonia: Doesn't like, because of her relationship with Heliwer.
- Dusk: Doesn't mind, though will be casious around.
- Karash: Trusts, though more in a medic-to-patient type of way.

Species: Human
Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Short, Brown hair, beard and mustache. Ice blue eyes. Big scar over right eye. 6'3". Fairly muscular
Personality Profile:
- Loves fist fights, brawls, bare-knuckle boxing
- Loves things that go boom
- Loves to smoke, drink, and gamble
- Still very independent due to his days as a pirate and a merk
- Recently has been trying to be more mature
Relationships
- Jaenna: Likes. Friendly about her. Fairly worried due to knowledge about her spice usage in the past
- Mox: Dislikes. Will not help him unless instructed to. Happy to leave him for dead. Would love to kill him. Considers him a Republic spy
- Dusk: Attempting to be friendly.
- Karash: Dislikes the pessimistic attitude. Doesn't hate, but dislikes a little.
- Naast: Believes him to be a cocky newb who might get the squad (or himself) killed.
- Xylonia Rose: Loves. Flirts with her openly and playfully.

Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Eyes that change color with her mood, long thin scar down her cheek to her neck under her left eye, hundreds of scars on her back and shoulders from knife wounds, her hair is always a bright odd color and she dyes it frequently
Personality Profile:
- Extremely untrusting of others until they prove themselves to her
- Loyal at all costs to those few she does trust
- Likes to get into trouble, it distracts her from the inner pain she is always hiding
- Has a very hot temper and can be extremely violent
- Hates authority and tends to rebel against it
- Loves whiskey, cigars and dancing
- Loves working out, training, kick boxing, and shooting
- Loves heavy weaponry and explosives
- Loves working on engines, or anything mechanical, is a grease monkey
- Loves driving anything and everything from swoop bikes to ships, if it goes fast, she drives it
- Is currently trying to deal with her grief of the recent loss of Captain Reginold Torwyn
Relationships
- Joamer: She respects Joamer but is currently pissed off at him for being distracted during their current mission. She is not likely to follow many of his orders right now.
- Jaenna: She has lost some respect for Jaenna. She is unsure about the woman after seeing her have an "episode" during a mission. She is also pissed at Jaenna for a lack of coordination, but not as pissed at her as she is at Joamer. She is not likely to follow many, if any, orders from her right now.
- Karash: She respects this man for his abilities to handle medical emergencies, but he seems to get annoyed with her and mostly ignore her. The occasional sarcastic comment from him makes her unsure where they stand. She regards him as a squad mate, albeit a cranky one.
- Heliwer: Loves. She would die for him.
- Beta: She is extremely wary of this man, at least until he gets his memory issue resolved. She does not know anything about him at all. She regards him as a squad mate, but keeps a close eye on him to protect herself and her other squad mates.
- Coadster: She likes this man although they don't know each other too well. She has seen him hold his own in combat with a serious injury. His lightness of situations is refreshing, and she enjoys his sense of humor. They work well together and she respects him. She is curious to know more about him and somewhat feels like he is a little brother to her.
- Dusk: She likes and respects this man. She has seen him be very capable on missions and in a bar fight. He started to gain a bit of trust from her when he first defended her from a thug. They work very well together in close combat. She considers him not only a squad mate, but a friend.
- Mox: She does not know this man well enough to have a strong opinion of him. She has only seen a little bit of his skills in combat, but is not impressed. She will watch his back on a mission though as he has not wronged her in any way.

Since SCOPE Load-Out is only forced during Platoon Missions most RAIDERS Squad members prefer to use their own gear. This is permitted since it also adds to the idea that they are not official Vast Empire troops, and often can be be quite beneficial.
