Biography[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Kal Jaego has served as a TIE Interceptor pilot for the Galactic Empire for over 20 years, and like any career soldier, he has his fair share of scars to prove it. His ears have nicks missing from them, his left arm and left leg are both mechanical, and his face and upper body are covered in little cuts and scars from a long and distinguished career. His brown eyes appear to have something missing from them; they have lost the shine of youth and of hope, and although he appears distinguished and immaculate in both his appearance and his personal grooming, one cannot help but feel that he is going through the motions.
His moustache is neatly trimmed and his hair has long since gone grey - it was grey before he even reached 30 years old, in fact. He has a well-defined jaw and hollow cheekbones, and cuts a tall and imposing figure. The fact that he still maintains his body and works out regularly does nothing to detract from his naturally intimidating aura, and those whom have met Jaego always mention that he appears authoritative and in command...if a little tired.
Personality[edit]
An old soldier from what he considers to be a more civilized age, Kal is the epitome of the Imperial Officer Class: He is polite to a fault, respectful to everyone he speaks to (even his enemies), and surprisingly humble. He is the quintessence of a gentleman, having been quoted saying that, when conducting the rather unpleasant business of ending another individual's life, it costs nothing to remain civil. This is the thing about Kal - he is impeccably polite, but also utterly ruthless when the need calls for it.
However, decades of war have taken the youthful fire from his eyes and from his heart, and he is an old, tired soldier whom has killed for so long he doesn't know how to do anything else, even as he is disgusted at the conditions in which he must fight. Only a deep sense of loyalty and his own personal code of honour keeps him working for the Imperial Dominion, which he has begun to despise.
He has no friends, and he makes a point of having no friends. In his line of work, he has lost so many friends and loved ones that he simply has no more tears to shed, and so sees little point in needlessly inviting more pain. He is a harsh taskmaster, but seen as something of a father figure by the other members of the 128th, even if he refuses to care about them - he constantly reminds them that he is putting so much effort into helping them be their best only so that he has the best watching his back.
Most of them don't believe it for a second.
