The Senior Aviator's exam is meant to distinguish the senior pilots of the Vast Empire Navy. It tests the knowledge of Naval equipment, how to effectively use it in combat, and knowledge of the club. Naval procedure is also tested, reinforcing the ideals of the navy and showing a good understanding of policy. We can only ask you to do your best, but the best is what we're looking for- please, take your time and be confident in your answers. Note that 'point' totals are not necessarily a reflection of length or number of needed 'ideas' to get full credit. In other words, though we may ask you to explain the design of a TIE Interceptor, you don't need just five points or at least five points- we just need to see you understand what you're talking about. With that in mind- the best to you.

Note that all text below this line must be copied into the message that is sent to the officer who will be grading the exam- that means the Officer's Grading Matrix, the Pilot Information as well as the answers and the questions with them. 9. If you're a flight leader, propose what your schedule might be in a given week for watching over your people. Include reports, communication and posting. (No need for a day-to-day, but make sure you get what you accomplish in a week down.) (4 Points)

10. Your Flight has slowed down for some reason in activity, presuming you're the flight lead- what will you do to find out why the activity is slow and how will you pick it back up? (4 Points)

11. Why is communication important in a squadron? A flight? (3 Points)

12. How do you eject from a TIE Interceptor? What will you have with you? (2 Points)

13. You're being pursued by another fighter- give me two ways you would know that without looking out your back view port. (2 Points)

14. There are two TIE Interceptors and two A-wing fighters- say you are one of the Imperial fighters and you have a wingman with you. Explain the maneuvers you would use and the tactics you would carry out to dispatch the enemy. Make sure you are both the pursuer and the pursued at one point in the line of events and explain how you got your kills. No need to make it story style, but run us through exactly how you would work it out. (Forcing them to run away is not acceptable.) (5 Points)

Extra Credit

I'm not going to be all too easy about this :)

EC. "In story form, tell me how your character would react to being assigned a cabin with another pilot who snores. I want your character to react in some way, whether he likes snoring or not, so that you and I can get an idea of your characters personality. If you're character doesn't mind, try to stop the snoring because you're watching something or it's irritating because you're trying to accomplish some task in the cabin. If he doesn't like it- just react and try to stop it because you need to sleep. "

Now, I'm looking for creativity and entertainment here- basic protocol isn't sad, mad or funny. There comes a point in time where you just need to cut loose and have a laugh with your flight members. So- if I don't like it, you don't get the extra credit. It's very loose extra credit, so you can't argue with me if I don't give it to you. That's it- if you get this, it makes up for one missed question. Getting this along with a flawless exam doesn't earn you anything extra, but it makes you even more susceptible to promotion.

The best to you.
