Personal Information

Personality[edit]

Very shy, will not speak to people he is unsure of. Once Skar learns to trust his peers, he rapidly becoms trusted and can be relied on for anything. Prefers working solo or in small groups, avoids large groups wherever possible. Fell in love with flying from a very young age, becoming a pilot is his dream come true. Works very hard to become a skilled and respected pilot, has spent countless days studying every pilot handbook he could get his hands on. Has yet to fly a fighter in a real-life squad situation, and is excited but also petrified at the same time.

History[edit]

Skar was the quiet boy that always sat at the back of the classroom. He had a small but close circle of friends. They would sit and pay attention to what the teacher was saying, every now and again turning to mutter a few words to one of the others. With the exception of Hasbian and Kell, Skar spoke to no one. He got given the tag line 'loner' fairly quickly, but it never bothered him. Skar didn't want to become popular.

He was top of his class every time. His teachers always said he was the most talented mind to ever pass through their doors, that he could do anything he wanted in the world. The only problem was, Skar didn't want the world open to him like that. He wanted to find himself as the underdog, to be able to work himself up through hard work and dedication, not through talent.

He spent most evenings looking up at the stars. The stars weren't ever the things he was looking for. He spent every night sat on his roof, hoping one of the imperial fighters would blast its way across the sky again, elegantly weaving its way through the sky.

One night Skar's dreams came true. He was lying on his roof overlooking the quiet street below, searching the sky for any glimpse of man-made machine, when he heard a man call up to him. Skar panicked and leaped up to his feet. He momentarily forgot about the fact he was lying on a slanted roof, and consequently lost his footing. He slipped right off of the roof and landed in a heap at the mans feet. He quickly got back up to his feet and gingerly smiled at the man in front of him, trying to ignore the blinding pain going through his ankle.

The man was surprisingly tall, easily six feet. His dark hair was very neatly combed, casually over one eye. He wore a crisp uniform, not a wrinkle in sight. There was an emblem over his jacket pocket, which Skar recognised immediately.

"You're an imperial pilot?" Skar gasped.

The man nodded, a somewhat bemused look on his face, which was rather understandable considering the events he had just witnessed.

"Yeah, I am. Are you okay kid?" He responded. Skar looked down at the mans feet, his shyness suddenly overwhelming him. The man ignored it.

"Anyway kid, I've seen you up there the last few nights. Am I right in saying it's the fighters you're watching?"

Skar nodded.

"I've got mine parked up just down the road, want to have a look round it?"

Skar's shyness all but disappeared. The fact that he had been given the chance to admire the only thing he loved up close dazzled him beyond all of his normal boundaries. He nodded so vigorously his head almost fell off. The man smiled and turned down the street, signalling for Skar to follow him. He did so without a single hint of nerves.

The man took him down the many side streets of Tatooine, winding their way through the streets, as if in a maze. Skar was relieved to find himself able to keep up with the man, if he lost him he would probably never find his way out again. Eventually, the man arrived at a locked door. He typed a series of numbers into the keypad to the side, and the door whirred open in reply.

Skar was just able to see it over the man's shoulder. He gasped in amazement. An imperial fighter was sitting right in front of him. He had seen them countless times, but never this close up. It seemed majestic yet deadly at the same time.

"Can I have a look inside" Kanderin asked, after eventually re-finding his voice.

"Sorry, I cant do that. Navy law" The man shook his head.

He did however; wave Skar in closer to the ship. He stayed back, leaning against the wall. He smiled to himself as he watched Skar walk around the ship in awe, using his hand to weave the outline of the ship. He reminded the man of himself at that age.

"Kid, how old are you?"

Skar was able to draw himself from the astonishing shine of the windows just long enough to answer. "18"

"Ever thought about joining the Navy? The pays not all that good to start off with, but its really worth it being able to fly one of these babies"

Skar looked up at the man as if he was some sort of idol for a few seconds. He had never considered becoming one of the men he admired so much. However, there was one thing that still lingered on his mind.

"My parents would never allow it. They want me to go to university, do well for myself" Skar spat.

"So did mine" The man replied. "Top of my class, top of every class infact. Everyone had high hopes for me; you could imagine the shock on their face when I told them I wanted to be a pilot. You're 18, an adult. Your parents can't stop you from doing whatever the hell you want. The Imperial camp is just a few miles away, why don't you sign up?"

Skar looked to the ground again. "I might, i'm not..."

"Tell you what" The man paused until Skar looked back up to him. "I'm going out of town tonight for a week or so. Think about it, and if you decide you want to do it once your back, ill take you to sign up"

Skar nodded.

The man came back next week, as he had promised. But he never did take Skar to the Naval camp. He was already there, dressed up smartly in Naval outfit, smiling at himself in the mirror.

Academy Times[edit]

Skar excelled in his basic training. He caught on very quickly and acheived 100% in his final exam. He graduated with Distinction and promoted to Senior Crewman. He has now been placed in Nazgul Squadron.

He is now getting settled into squadron life, but hopes to return to the academy soon to begin his Flight Leader training.
