Personality-
Likes: Flying, tinkering with machinery, souping up ships, drinking and cards; also enjoys
watching swoop races Dislikes: Mentions of his family, intellectuals, most other people and disorganization
(probably due to his mechanic's need to know where everything is)
Has something of an angry attitude about him, always wants to get things done right the
first time, and has a volcanic temper with a sharp tongue. Has an affinity for strong drinks
and female mechanics. Hates crowds and prefers to be alone with his machinery.
Chooses his friends very carefully and is naturally cautious; not a huge risk-taker, save for
the occasional poker game. However, Sol will work with people when he needs to, and
can be very agreeable if one knows what buttons to push (mechanic talk, for example, is
a good way to get him to not hate you.) online writing jobs
History[edit]
Solomon Larith, the oldest of three sons of Vanni and Tarn Larith, was born on Bespin,
approximately 18 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin). His two younger brothers, Aren and Ton, were
his constant companions throughout his childhood years. They studied with him, hung
out with him, and helped him whenever he needed something done. All three of them
helped their father, Tarn, with his duties as a mechanic in the Cloud City Security Force's
motor pool. However, Tarn was forced into an early retirement, due to deteriorating health. In order
to keep food on the table, Sol had to quit his studies and take over Tarn's task of
servicing a squadron of the CCSF's cloud cars. Sol had an appetite for mechanics and
engineering, but often found the work to be tedious and boring. As Sol came of age, he began frequenting the local pilot hang-outs, chatting with all of
the hotshots and aces, after finishing his work for the day. He befriended a pilot by
the name of Lyal, who turned out to be the pilot of one of the cloud cars that Sol
regularly serviced. The two became close friends, and when he wasn't on duty, Lyal often came to visit Sol
while he worked. They often taught each other tidbits about their jobs: Sol showed Lyal how to
repair this and that, and Lyal pointed out all of the various controls and instruments
in his craft. Sometimes, they both got into Lyal's cloud car, Sol in the
gunner's pod, and flew all over and around in the endless skies of Bespin. Eventually, Sol developed rudimentary piloting abilities, whereas Lyal became more
proficient with his mechanical skills. It was in this way that Sol first learned to fly.
After many months, Lyal was transferred to another sector of Cloud City, and Sol was alone this
time, for his brothers had both left Bespin for a life in the Rebellion two years
earlier, 1 BBY. They became officers on a capial ship, the Defiant. Sol still worked his shift day in and day out, until his father perished from illness.
Vanni and Sol were grief-stricken. Sol began to develop a temper, and shot back
at anybody who tried to console him. He eventually began to drink and did not like
the company of others; he preferred to be alone. And that's how life was for Solomon
Larith. As he neared his 21st birthday, Sol began to get into trouble, mostly bar fights and
such. But one day, as he was working on one of his vehicles, a fellow mechanic by the name of
Tainn began speaking to a fellow mechanic about Sol's deceased father. Sol became
enraged by this, and promptly hurled his hydrospanner at the man. Tainn suffered a concussion
and several broken vertebrae from the impact, and Sol was fired for the
incident. Sol began to drink harder than ever, and soon he spent nearly all of his time in bars and
cantinas, begging for drinks and money. His elderly mother, Vanni, passed away as
well, and Sol became even more self-destructive. He blamed himself for the death of his
parents and resolved to go straight from here on out. As hard as he tried, however, Sol could
not resist the allure of liquor, and he was often drunk. It was at this time that the Empire showed up on Bespin, in the form of Darth Vader and
his stormtrooper entourage. Sol was pressed back into the mechanic's service in a
frantic effort to get every vehicle available ready for an evacuation of Cloud City, "just in
case" he was told. He ended up with his old job even after the incident. Sol still frequented the local bars, and as he was having his usual ale, a group of
Imperial pilots, on shore leave, turned up in the booth next to him. He found himself in
conversation with them, and they convinced the now-drunk Sol to enlist as a cargo pilot. Thus, Solomon now flew cargo shuttles for the Empire, from Corulag to Bonadan, three times
a week. As he continued to fly different runs all over the Empire, Sol became a
competent shuttle pilot. When he was on leave, on Abregado Rae, he encountered his old pilot
friend, Lyal. Lyal was now a pilot in the Navy, and he took note of Sol's skills. After reporting Sol's
abilities to his CO, Sol was transferred (with his consent) out of the supply corps
and into the Vast Empire Naval Academy. This shift happened around 8 years after
Yavin. So all of Sol's years of being a mechanic, and then a cargo runner, cumulated into this
chance for Solomon to take his temper out on someone else... while getting paid to do
it. Sol enlisted in the Vast Empire Naval Academy and quietly passed through flight school
with little fanfare, just the way he liked it. He was placed into Nazgul Squadron under the
command of Trevor Evenson. He serves in this squadron to this day...
