Current status[edit]

Helmsman aboard the LCR Duty

Biography[edit]

Appearance[edit]

He was unremarkable aside from the red hair he sported from a young age, skinny and lanky with a slightly too-large nose and sunken cheeks. He looked decidedly unhealthy growing up, but nothing could be done to ameliorate that – it was how he was.

Personality[edit]

Lannik Mivros was a shy, introverted individual. While autistic, he concealed it well and more than made up for it with his skill at the helm. Due to his nature, however, he came across as timid, even helpless when ordered around (though it wasn’t so) and as such became unpopular with his superiors. He spoke to few people and had fewer friends, preferring instead to find friends in holo-books or droids. .

History[edit]

Like many Imperials before him, Lannik was born on Corellia to a middle-class Corellian family, destined to be nothing extraordinary – or so he believed. He was one of those people in school who didn’t over-achieve or under-achieve, but had the potential to swing either way. He was unremarkable aside from the red hair he sported from a young age, skinny and lanky with a slightly too-large nose and sunken cheeks. He looked decidedly unhealthy growing up, but nothing could be done to ameliorate that – it was how he was. He was smart as a child, but never took to studying, instead being the kid in school that everyone remembered, but no-one ‘’really’’ knew or could find anything memorable about him.

He never had many friends and this adversely affected his already obvious autism. He became withdrawn from society and family, burying himself in holo-studies and the holo-net. At one point in his life, at the age of 19, he was kicked out of home by a mother who was tired of him sitting at home doing nothing. Forced onto the street, he had no options and found the only alternative to be the Imperial Military. He joined up on Corellia, passing the exams in just a year and earning the rank of PO1 within weeks. He was skilled as a helmsman, that skill was almost immediately noted by an unorthodox Captain who was planning something. This plan happened to be a defection. Just months after he was assigned as Helmsman to this Captain – aboard an Immobilizer-418 – the very same Captain fled the Imperial Remnant to sign up with the Vast Empire.

He put in a very good word for the young Petty Officer and soon enough, Mivros was granted a promotion and a position aboard one of the VE’s CR-90s. There he moseyed along, his superiors increasingly frustrated with his social ineptitude to such a point that he began to be moved from ship-to-ship in an unfair game of ‘hot potato’. Through these numerous transfers, he somehow earned the rank of WO1 – along with the derisive callsign ‘Steer’. ‘Steer’ was short for ‘Steer Clear’, a reference to the fact nobody could make friends with him and nobody really wanted to. Remarkably, in an uncharacteristic display of self-confidence, Lannik wore the name with pride and instead attributed it to his skill at the helm as opposed to the negative connotations that many wanted to consign the name to.

Finally, the chance came to ‘pawn him off’, so-to-speak, when it was realised the up-and-coming Ship Captain, Demetrius Aita, was looking for a crew. Someone who didn’t want Lannik arranged for him to be transferred immediately, believing it to be a one-way journey to the end of Lannik’s tenure in the Vast Empire Navy.
