Blaine Relt is a quiet but energetic young man. Currently a Trainee at the Stormtrooper Academy, He is working hard to ready himself for combat and life after training. His abilities with a deck of cards is unrivaled and he always seems to have his hands on something he shouldn't. In training its been the best candy bars and snacks the other trainees could ask for. He uses his skills as a pick pocket and a magician to curry favor with the other trainee and while benevolent, will use his talents to accomplish his goal.

Appearance

His wiry frame does nothing to denote his physical power. He weighs in at slightly above what most would consider "shrimpy" but his dexterity from years of practiced sleight has allowed him to overcome most stronger opponents. He has grown in training both in strength and in confidence and is prepared to take on anything the VEA can throw at him.

History

Childhood

Ever since he was young he had an obsession with magic. That even though technology had advanced so far a simple sleight of hand could still confound and amaze even the most hardened war veterans.

Wiz had experienced a completely average childhood. He had normal caring parents and a good home. His family wasn't wealthy but money was never too tight. He had gone to school and learned with the rest of the children his age. He had suffered through the standardized tests and aptitude batteries just like every other child his age. The only thing that made him even slightly remarkable was that every chance he got he would sneak out to the back alleys and streets and learn magic tricks and sleight of hand from the local street performers and pickpockets.

He had never been able to find a steady gig as a performing artist. His street performances always seemed to turn into a pick pocketing fest as his teachers moved through the crowd, not to cheer him on or encourage him, but to use the 16 year old magician to distract easy pick pocket targets. He had gotten tired of being taken advantage of.

Teen Years

By the time he was 13, Blaine was an adept street magician performing every day after school for his classmates, and then later in the night for the local bars and bar patrons. The petty cash he made from his small shows was good candy money for a young boy but his cut from the professional pick pockets in the crowd was much better. As he grew older the money funded small parties for his classmates where he could always provide libations meant for older audiences. He made connections that allowed him to do many things boy his age could not. When he turned 15, Blaine was already dealing with more criminals than most people would meet in their whole lives. His parents disapproved of his nightly exploits but if they tried to stop him he would just sneak out. He was in trouble with the law every other week but never incarcerated. Finally at the age of 18 he enrolled in the universities with no particular idea what he was going to study.

A Student By Day, A Magician by Night

Everyday was the same. There was no change. He woke in the morning, prepared for class, ate breakfast and left. His classes consisted of complex topics that he didn't care about and thus his grades suffered. The only class that remotely interested him was psychology. It was all bout how he could use small physical cues to improve his sleight of hand and magic tricks. His studies progressed normally with below average grades. In his third year he stopped going to classes to sleep. His work as a street performer had progressed so much that he needed to sleep during the day hours so he could stay awake into the early hours of the morning to make money. School was over for him and his career wasn't progressing well. One day an Army recruiter approached him with offers of excitement and danger. He signed up and soon departed for Tadath where he was currently stationed.
