Naval High Command
Commander in Chief
The Vast Empire Naval Commander in Chief has ultimate command over the Navy. All promotion requests must go through him and all decisions about the Fleet in general are made or approved the NCC. In addition the NCC runs the day to day operations in the Fleet and reports only to the Grand Admiral and High Council. The NCC is fourth in command of the Vast Empire and is a voting member of the High Council.

Executive Officer
The Naval Executive Officer is second in command of the entire Vast Empire Fleet. The Executive Officer's duties are to ensure all operations run smoothly and to handle local problems and report them to the NCC if necessary. Also, when the NCC is away, the Executive Officer takes over as commander until his return. The Executive Officer also handles all medal requests and the medal board. All medal notifications must be CC'ed to the Operations Officer to ensure proper documentation.

Training Officer
The Training Officer is head of all training operations involving all three game platforms. The Training Officer's primary duty is to test the potential of all pilots and have them qualify for active duty. As head of the Vast Empire Naval Academy (VENA), the Training Officer also tests and certifies enlisted pilots for their pilot certificate and officer candidacy.

Adjutant
An Adjutant is a full time servant to one of the four High Command Officers. An Adjutant aides the officer in his duties and is usually the recipient of many rewards because of this. (XXX represents the abbreviation of the officer the person is adjutant to.)

Master at Arms
The Master at Arms sits as the Adjutant to the NCC. The basic duty of an Master at Arms is to enforce rules and regulations, maintain good order and discipline, and protect life and property. The NMA has the authority to enforce any and all order and decisions made by the NCC and NXO as well as ones made during the Naval Commanders' Meetings. This authority extends to all branches of the Navy including, but not limited to, the Star Fighter Corps, Academy, and Capital Ship Services. The NMA also has the authority to call for NCMs, and sits as the Chairman of the Naval Advisory Committee. This individual reports solely to the NCC and NXO.

Naval Command
Logistics Officer
The Logistics Officer is in charge of creating and approving missions/battles; and ship development; for the Vast Empire Navy. The Logistics Officer assists the Naval Commander in Chief and Executive Officer in making official navy battles and missions. This individual is often seen in the presence of the Naval Commander in Chief and his Executive Officer to discuss with them the Navy's tactical affairs, battle plans, capitol ship movements, etc.

Fleet Commander
Fleet Commanders are in charge of an entire fleet of starships. They handle all coordination between the ships and regularly report to the Naval High Command about the ships under their command.

Ship Captain
A Ship Captain commands a single starship, typically a capital ship. He is in command of all units aboard the ship, including any starfighter wings. A ship commander answers to both his Fleet Commander and the Navy High Council.

Ship Executive Officer/First Officer
An Executive Officer (XO) of a ship is the second in command to the Captain of a single starship, sometimes also known as the First Officer. He is responsible for all activities aboard the ship including any duties passed onto him by the Captain. A ship XO answers directly to his or her Captain, as well as the Fleet Commander and the Navy High Council.

Starfighter Corps
Wing Commander
A Wing Commander coordinates the efforts of the squadrons under his command. Typically a Wing Commander in the Vast Empire Navy is in command of three squadrons. A wing commander reports to his Ship Captain or, rarely, his Fleet Commander

Squadron Commander
The Squadron Commander is the highest authority within a single squadron. Generally one of the most in disposable members of the Vast Empire Navy he endeavors to ensure that his squadron remains active and is duly rewarded for their work. Squadron commanders report to their Wing Commanders and Ship Captains. Must be Second Lieutenant, and pass the Squadron Commander's Exam.

Squadron Exec. Officer
The Squadron Executive Officer is the second in command of a starfighter squadron. He assists the squadron commander in the general administration of the squadron and commands the squadron in his absence. The SXO is also typically a Flight Leader. Must be Chief Warrant Officer or Higher, and Possess the Master Aviator's Certification.

Flight Leader
A Flight Leader's job is to coordinate a single element of starfighters within a squadron. These elements are called Flights and are the lowest unit of organization within the Vast Empire Navy. Flight Leaders are highly trusted by their Squadron Commander and assist him in his duties. Must be Chief Petty Officer, and have the Senior Aviator's Certification.

Flight Member
Flight Members are the core of the Vast Empire Navy. They constitute the bulk of the Navy's membership. Flight members usually pilot a starfighter into combat. Flight members perform other various duties in non-combat situations.

Trainee
A Trainee is one of the newest members of the Vast Empire Navy. They strive to learn as much as they can about how the Vast Empire and its Navy operate and to flesh out their characters in order to qualify as full members of the Navy and join a Squadron.
