Work in Progress. Apologies for any delays caused to your training. If you have any question, please contact your trainer.

Welcome to Pilot Orientation.

In this chapter, you will learn the basics of what it means to be a member of the Vast Empire Starfighter Corps. A pilot in the VE Navy spends most of his/her time posting on their squadron's stories. An average post can involve anything from dogfighting, to taking on larger vessels, trying to avoid getting blown up, etc... because of the potentially 'boring' nature of starfighter combat, posts naturally employ a lot more creative thinking than usual, also known as 'thinking outside the box'.

Pilot Orientation is split into four short tutorials, each detaling a different aspect of VE Navy life. These tutorials have been designed specificially to short and informative, so that you don't have to do too much reading. It is recommended that you read through them before continuing on to the assignment.

Imperial Fighter Basics - The basics of starfighters and how the VE differs from Star Wars canon.

Enemy Fighter Basics - Know your enemy. The more you can write about the person you're fighting, the better.

Basic Flight Maneuvers - Unlike the Army, starfighter combat can seem more complicated then it is. In this chapter are some basic tips you can employ in starfighter combat.

The Essence of a Post - The longest of the tutorials, this chapter goes through the 'anatomy' of a post, along with tips and tricks if you get writer's block.

Assignment

The short tutorials above were designed to try and help you integrate into the Vast Empire lifesytle, without overloading you with too much information. With any luck, this chapter has equipped you with sufficient knowledge with which to write a fairly decent post. So guess what your assignment is?
