Chapter I: The Beginning[edit]

“I see you received our message.” a shady figure says.

“Yes, I have. But it’s strange, why would you want me to build it?” Char Nobyl responded.

“Two Reasons; One, your the best we have, and Two you the only one we could get on such short notice.” the figure said, “You understand the mission, we want you to create us a Droid with a sentient mind.”.

“That never been done in public engineering, I don't understand why you think that I would be able to do it.” Char questioned.

“You have skill, skill that no other Imperial has.” The figure responded as he began to walk away, “When you finish the Droid, contact us on the frequency we gave you. We will then return and give you your payment” the figure then disappeared into darkness.

Char Nobyl then boarded a shuttle and left the meeting point; his destination, Kuat. He picked Kuat because of its Starship Industry; it would have all the parts he needed to build this “Sentient Droid”. During the shuttle trip, he checked a data pad that the officer had given him; it listed the things that the empire wanted this Droid to be able to do. Without even notifying the Vast Empire, his Imperial Faction, he disappeared and was listed as AWOL. He used all the data banks he could find for any trace of a droid that had a sentient mind, with no luck. He then began his search to find a droid model that was the most capable to be transformed into this “Sentient droid”. He chose to use a Cybot Galactica droid, because they were some of the best around. He then chose a 3PX model of droid, they has superior combat abilities of the regular 3po model. It would also have the ability to survive on its own for extended periods of time, without a mechanic’s maintenance on it. He was able to mimic the ability of a humanoid’s limb movement. He made it as maneuverable as its human counterparts. He still faced the problem with the droids main organ, its sentient brain. After solving these problems he still had to create a mind for it, he decided to check the data banks again and he found something he missed. A proto-type droid fighter brain that was created by Cybot Galactica could be modified to create a sentient mind. He had no choice but to contact the Imperial Remnant and tell them what he needed to finish the droid. A week later; a delivery was made to his Kuat apartment, where he was building the droid. He opened the room door, and then two storm troopers rushed in with guns aimed. Then an officer walked in followed by a specialist moving a hover cart with the parts on it.

“Where should I put the parts, Sir?” the specialist asked Char.

“Just leave them next to the work table.” he responded, after the specialist left the parts he walked out of the room. The two storm troopers then also left the room and repositioned themselves outside the door, and then sealed the door.

“These should be all the parts you need” the Officer said to Char. “Now, I was instructed to also get a status report on the project from you.”

“I was not informed of this. I have nothing prepared.” He responded to the Officer’s demand,

“Then you better type on up, I will return in two hours to pick it up” the officer responded as he walked to the door. The troopers then unsealed the door, let the officer out, and then resealed the door.

”Great, another setback.” He said outloud.

One month later, in his apartment, his Holo-Mail received a message.

“Greetings Citizen, this is General Di’Kut, of the New Republic. We recently received information regarding a droid that you are creating.” The message began.

“How the hell did they find out?” Char said out loud. He then continued to read the message “This droid that you are creating will not be allowed to be finished.”

“Try to stop me.” he said outloud.

“Unless, you agree to build this droid for us and reprogram it to be hostile and assassinate Imperial Leaders. You will be highly compensated for building the droid for us. If you continue to build this droid without agreeing to these terms you will face criminal charges. Please contact us with your decision.”

The message ended, and Char saw an opportunity. Not one to work for the Rebels, but one to make lots of Credits. He then sent his reply.

“I would be happy to serve the Republic, but this would require the Republic paying for my supplies. Please send me a minimum of one million Republic credits so that I can buy the supplies to finish the droid and reprogram it for you.” He sent the message and then began to laugh.

“They really think that I care that they will charge with as a criminal if I don’t build it for them,” he said.

“I’m not sure, Sir.” A droid voice said, “It would be foolish of them to pay you the credits. They should realize that if they are paying a million credits to a mechanic that he is lying.”

The voice finished. “Too true.” Char replied.

“Master, when will you install the final parts of the programming?” the droid voice asked.

“Soon, the Remnant is bringing the final parts next week, and then you will be complete.”

A week later, just as he said the final delivery arrived. He then decided to go out drinking to celebrate a job completed. He drank for four hours and then made his mistake. He let it slip that he was designing an assassin droid for the empire and a KSF officer overheard him and reported it to his Superior Officer. A day later, there was an alert of a Holo-Message. He read the message and it said,

“You Fool, someone found out about the project. They are arresting you in ten minutes. Get out now, Take the droid and fly back towards your imperial faction.”

There was no name on the message. He then immediately hacked into the KSF’s database and saw there was an arrest order for him. He walked over to the droid, and deactivated him, and then set a time for ten days. The droid would re activate in ten days, long after the KSF was gone. Then, right after he did that, there was a knock at the door.

“KSF, Open the door, now!” a trooper shouted.

Char knew not to open the door Instead he ran towards the window, as the KSF override the door and got in.

“Get down Now, or I’ll blast you down!” one of the KSF officers shouted

Eventually he complied. They then took him away to be sent to a prison colony. They sentenced his master to the Kessel Spice Mines for 20 Years. But the KSF made a big mistake, they left 3px2 there. After the secured the area and took his master away, they forgot to take and destroy him. But there was a problem, since the arrested his master before he finished programming him, there was a gap. This gap made him aggressive, and made his default programming, quiet and he would only talk about getting a job. But the Brain made him learn, as he started to work with humanoids, he started to act like a humanoid. But no matter how human-like he got, he still had that gap that made him an aggressive pilot, he can computer problems handle the situation.

Chapter II: The Outside World[edit]

So after they left, he took all the credits and the "Whisper Subsonic Slug thrower Sniper Rifle" and headed to the hanger to take his master's "Toscan 8-Q Star Fighter" and flew to Nar Shaddaa to get a job using his hidden purpose, an assassin droid. His first job was a simple one; a merchant was late on a protection payment to the local gang lord, who was a meber of the Black Sun Pirates. His job was to collect, but the man didn't have the money. He looked around in the merchant's store, and saw many upgrades for droids. So he made a deal with the merchant. If the merchant let him take items that would make up the price he owed, "3PX2" would pay the gang lord what he owed. He took 2 Retractable Lasers, and the merchant installed them onto him. He returned to the gang lord and gave him the credits; he was pleased to learn how 3PX2 handled it. He not only got the credits that were owed, but got something for him too. The gang lord paid the bounty and 3PX2 went to find his next job. With the money he earned he bought Infrared Photo receptors, and got a job working for the Hutts. Apparently the Gang Lord he had just worked for was an enemy of the hutts. His job was to use the trust they now had for him, sneak in and eliminate the entire gang. He completed the mission and took a Retractable Missile Launcher, and left to collect his reward. He collected the reward and went to buy a Rear-Firing Laser Cannon. This is when he began to notice that he was missing many parts of his programming, but the strange thing was he had memories. He remembered his master creating him, he remembered when the KSF came in and arrested him. He began to remember a name, the “Vast Empire” all he knew was it had something to do with his master. Since he had no other idea what it meant he just ignored it.

Chapter IV: The Meeting[edit]

C-3PX2 was in a rapid descent into the atmosphere of Hypori. He was aboard the transport "Metroid" on a trip from Abrae to Hypori. Just two days earlier while C-3PX2 was doing minor maintenance on his apartment on Abrae, when he received a Holo-Mail message from someone identifying themselves as “Char Nobyl ". The message said:

> : Escaped from Kessel Prison,

> : Have Droid Facility on Hypori,

> : Meet there to finish construction,

> : Char Nobyl

He was confused on the matter, " Char Nobyl" was to be in the Kessel Spice Mine Prison for building Assault Droids without a License, he was sent there after building C-3PX2. He had no knowledge on Char having a Droid facility on Hypori, but he would have to go there to find out. He put the paper work in the next day for a leave of absence. A few people would think it was strange, a Droid taking a leave.

He went to the Imperial Spaceport after filing for the leave of absence, boarding the transport frigate "Metroid". It was the only ship going to Hypori, so he didn't have much of a choice on what ship he would take. As he was walking to the boarding gate, he was stopped by a security officer, "Hey you, Droid. You can't go in there." He said as his use the controller for a restraining bolt. "Hey, where's your restraining bolt?" he said, "I do not need one, I am a passenger and you will let me pass." C-3px2 responded as he readied his blaster. The security officer was scared; he could see the Droid reaching for his blaster, "Fine," he said, "you can go. After he said that 3px2 walked into the boarding area. He got into his seat and the transport departed, it left Abrae and jumped to Hyper-Space. It was a regular trip; it made a stop on Nal Shaddaa to change passengers and cargo. Then it continued its course to Hypori, "Everyone, please take your seats. We will be landing soon." The Intercom said as the shuttle landed in a Hypori spaceport. When the shuttle landed C-3PX2 embarked to find the Droid Facility. After about an hour of looking he found what he wanted. He had found what looked to be part of a "CIS Droid Core ship". He walked towards the facility, but as he approached the core ship he saw a B3 Battle Droid and what looked to be a Human engaged in combat. He kept his distance, but began to enter the facility. The Human that he saw was much more than it appeared to be. It was an unused fourth version of the "Dark Trooper" project. Though it was a Dark Trooper, it was nothing more than an over sized B2 Super Battle Droid. It had only four blasters attached to it, and jump jets. No match for 3px2, or the B3 it was fighting, it was doomed to lose its battle.

As 3px2 predicted, the Strange and underpowered Droid was destroyed the B3. Then the B3 turned and saw 3px2, it raised its weapon and said "Intruder, Identify yourself." "This is C-3PX2, I was told to meet someone here." 3px2 replied. "Scanning, Identity Confirmed. Who are you planning to meet?" The B3 asked, "That's none of your concern, let me pass." 3px2 responded. "Follow me; if you do not comply you will be destroyed." At that moment two more B3 Droids came out of the shadows and surrounded 3px2. They walked 3px2 through a series of halls that spanned from caves that took to be dug by hand, to metallic hallways of the Droid core ship. At the end of the walk, they took him into a massive chamber. It seamed to be what the Droid's command center inside the core ship. The command center was makeshift, at best. There were destroyed panels, debris, and Droid parts covering the hallways. They continued to walk and stopped in front of a chrome silver humanoid Droid. "State your Identity" the chrome Droid demanded, "I have already given my identity to your sentry. Get the information from him." 3px2 responded. "Fine, I will. Sentry transmit the data." The chrome Droid said. Once he received the identity of 3px2 he walked away, towards a foot locker, opened it, and pulled out a data crystal and data panel. "Your Identity has been confirmed, C-3px2." The strange chrome Droid stated. Just then he inserted the data crystal into him and walked over towards C-3px2. "The maker placed these items here for you, just before he left." The Chrome Droid started to say. "Wait, He's gone?" 3px2 interrupted.

"Can you explain then, why was I told to come here?" C-3px2 asked. "I am getting to that, just let me finish." the chrome Droid replied. "This is the maker's original facility. This is where he built his first creation, and myself his third." The chrome Droid continued, "I am CY-10N, the maker's third and final original creation. You C-3PX2 are his second. A short while after he built me he had to escape from this planet." Cy-10N finished. CY-10N (or sigh as he was sometimes called) was tall, chrome Droid. With many pieces of equipment 3px2 could only dream of having. "Why did he have to escape, who was chasing him?" 3px2 asked, "The New Republic, they heard about how he programmed you. He programmed you to assassinate Republic Officers." Sigh said. "They attacked this facility to attempt to recapture him, after his escape from the Kessel spice mines. He activated his B3 Droid defenses and had to flee." Sigh finished. "That would explain a lot, about why there are so many Droid roaming this facility. But I though I saw "Carbons" (carbon based life forms) in here as well." 3px2 said. "You did, half of the facility we were able to protect. While the other half fell to some Mercenaries and smugglers looking to make a few quick credits off of this facility." Sigh answered. “I will make you a deal, if you help out in eliminating these carbons. I will give you all the information we have on Char Nobyl’s Location” Sigh said to 3PX2. “Or, I could kill you and take it from your hull.” 3PX2 replied. “You could, but you most likely fail. There are many of us, you cannot defeat us all. Follow me and ill show you an overview of the core ship, so that we can begin to create a strategy.” Sigh said.

Chapter VI: The War[edit]

Part I: Offensive[edit]

The sky gradually changed to a dark storm, the weather was matching the conflict. C-3PX2 had been on Etti IV for 2 months now, fighting the rebellious faction of the planet's government. The Anti-Loyalists had rebelled against the government nine months earlier, beginning the war for control. The Loyalist army, a massive robotic Droid army, immediately began defending its cities. Though in all the metallic parts of the loyalist army, there was one familiar face. Commander Char Nobyl, the Commander in charge of the “First Robotic Commando Division”, was in charge of the area and made sure they were well protected from the Horde of humanoids of the Anti-Loyalists Army. They had pushed forward into Anti-Loyalist Territory, and had occupied it for one month now, when new orders came in.

“Troops, Attention!” Commander Nobyl Ordered, “We now have new orders from command. Echo Squad, run to the armory and find all the explosives you can find. Then Rig the Area, were leaving.” As he said that, he noticed that it confused the Droids.

“Yes, Sir!” C-3PX2, the leader of Echo Squad, replied to his Commanding Officer. The Droids of Echo Squad then ran to the armory, as ordered, to get all the explosives that were there.

Just then, the silence ended with explosions.

“Mortars, Take Cover!” Commander Nobyl yelled.

The Anti-Loyalist Army had decided to retake their territory. They had lined the Hills with mortars, which they planed to use the bombard the Loyalist Army.

“Droids of the Loyalist Army. This is your one, and only time to Surrender. If you do not, you will be destroyed.” The Anti-Loyalist Commanded said over a Comm.

Just then, Echo Squad finished rigging the area with explosives. C-3PX2 then turned around, hearing a noise that sounded like footsteps.

“Flash!” 3px2 yelled out to the shadows, and from the shadows returned the word.

“Thunder!” C-3PX2 then lowered his weapon. “Commander Nobyl sent me over here to tell you, he wants those charges set to motions sensitive. We want to wait until they are there to blow them all to hell.” The runner said.

“Roger that,” 3px2 responded “Squad, you heard him. Set all charges for motion detonation.”

The runner began to run back towards the mass of loyalist droids, just as the squad finished setting all the explosives to motion detonation. The Heavy Explosives squad Echo began their hell run back to the lines. They had to run across an open field to get back to formation, leaving them an easy target for Anti-Loyalist Sharpshooters. But they were safe for now, for the battle had not yet begun. The Loyalist and Anti-Loyalist Armies were on opposite sides of a field; this field would be where the war would begin. Unknown to any of them is that this field would also be where the war ended. They managed to get back to their squad in one piece; the charges were set and primed. But just then, the inevitable happened. A could of smoke appeared around a part of the anti-loyalist army, and a whistling noise could be hears.

“Incoming!” someone yelled, the droids and cyborgs went for cover.

The anti-loyalists were going to shell them to death. Hoping it would make for an easy battle. What they didn’t know what that theses Loyalist troops were not afraid, nor would they surrender. The Anti-Loyalists had placed mortar teams along a small hill; they had a perfect view to line up their shots. It was like fire was raining down from the sky, a navy blue colored fireball. But actually it was Ion mortars, made to destroy a droid’s computer core. These mortars wiped out the majority of the droid army, for they were all closely spaced and all in formation. After Nine months of holding the line against Anti-Loyalist assaults it seemed as though they were going to lose the war.

“Send in 3 Gunships and some type of artillery” Commander Nobyl yelled into his comm. unit.

“What kind of artillery, sir, we have three different types. You can have ...” the dispatcher began to say.

“Just send some damn artillery; we have mortars pounding the hell out of us.” He looked down field to see utter destruction; forty-five percent of the droids were destroyed, twenty percent were not operating fully. That left him with a small thirty-five percent of troops left on the battle field.

“Enough of this,” he yelled “Everyone, fall back to one click in front of the capital. Beta, Delta, and Echo Squads; you stay hidden until they pass and then flank them.”

They had their orders, but they were not sure whether they would make it out of here alive. They did as they were told and they got down into cover as the main squads all when into a retreat. They awaited the proper moment to attack. They decided to attack them only after that had crossed the minefield, there would be less of them to take down then.

“Where’s that damn air support?” Commander Nobyl yelled into his comm.

“I am not sure, Sir. I sent them out of the hanger five minutes ago. You should see them by now.” A hanger deckhand said over comm.

Just then there was a loud noise from the area being the loyalists. It was the air support, and they were here to clear a path.

“Command 1-1, Raptor 1-1, we need something to tell you apart from them, all we see is thousands of droids. Throw smoke or paint the target.” The Pilot of the gunship said over comm.

It was going to be a Long Day at this rate. Having to either expose them self with some, or paint every last droid with a laser. It was an easy decision, but the question was, was it the right one.

“Sir,” one of the droids in Echo Squad was calling over to C-3PX2, “Radar show massive hostiles coming towards our location.”

“You mean the Anti-Loyalist Army heading towards us.” C-3PX2 responded.

“No, Sir. This radar is an Air Radar. The targets are above us.” Echo Squad looked up to see hundreds of pod shaped craft falling from the sky.

“So, these are what the Corporal was talking about.” He was thinking back to when he first started getting messages from a “Corporal” who was talking about an enemy that just came out of nowhere and fell from the sky.

Commander Nobyl saw these things before, he did not know what they were, but he knew they would tare through anything in their path.

“Sound the Retreat.” Commander Nobyl Said, as the droids began to march mach towards their transports.

“Echo Squad, we are pulling back. These creatures are too much for us to fight. I have fought them before and the tore through an entire division. The only place they can not get to us is in the air. We will take off and fire on them from here. Your objective, take out any Anti-Air Droids or turrets you see.” Unknown to the commander, Echo Squad was being jammed and could not respond to what he was saying.
