Cadet:Ten things you should know about the Vast Empire

Here are ten things you should be aware of before joining the Vast Empire:

- The Vast Empire is an incredibly fun RPG community at a price: We expect you to put forth at least moderate effort. If you don't enjoy working for your entertainment once in a while, this place might not be for you.
- The Vast Empire is not competitive. Members must work together to successfully form great stories, and commanders may remove members who are not contributing to their units to make space for other members that will.
- The Vast Empire community has dedicated a LOT of time into helping everyone with learning and having fun at the Vast Empire. Before you complain of something, do consider that most of our programs/features have been around for a long time simply because they work.
- The Academy VE Wiki articles help a little, but the best way to spend time to learn the site is getting on IRC to meet our members and ask questions.
- Characters with "god-like skills" are NOT fun. Make your character have some flaws to make up for where he or she excels.
- As with all communities, the Vast Empire has "good apples" and "bad apples." Don't let the bad ones ruin your fun.
