Much of the history of the Vast Empire follows along with the continuity of the canon known to those who have watched the Star Wars movies and followed along with books and comics and the recent cartoon series.

That said, we have our own history, written by the members of the club. Much of this is straight forward, some of it made up on our own worlds, using our own characters, vessels, vehicles, and technologies. And some of it is purposely made to avoid some of the more kitschy parts of the canon. Just because George Lucas has to put up with a horrific storyline, it doesn't mean we ALL have to drink the kool-aid.

And so, Discontinuity ensues. Things that do not make sense are ignored. Things that do not aid our storyline are removed and replaced by things that make events more interesting for us. Confused? Well, you probably should be.

This is why this topic exists. As the wiki grows, and Storynet postings pile up, Kindly refer to this category in your entries but please also catalog the changes here so that others may reference what doesn't match their officially licensed reading and viewing material.

Concerning the Naming[edit]

A variety of names have been toyed with for this concept. "Deviations" was a favorite for awhile. So was the concept of "Infinities", per the comic book series. Other names held favor for a time, much like the Marvel Comics "Elseworlds" and so on. In the end, this is not a one-shot project, or something meant to stand alone. We continue to be effected by the new material that comes out. We collect new vehicles from the comics, games, and once-again defunct RPG. This isn't a re-imagined Empire, just one with rules we can live with.

That said, if you have a better name, have a go and recommend it.
