He died, so what? Everyone dies sometime. You'll die, too. The sooner you stop caring, the sooner death'll stop hurting, kid.

Biography[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Vakma is a hard woman - one glance at her is enough to make that clear. Her hair is cut brutally short and usually is messy - the effort that many females put into their appearance is not even slightly visible on Vakma, and more often than not she is covered in soot, grease and often blood. Her face is comprised of hard lines, and her nose has been broken more than once in her time. Her chief expression is a dark frown, and she simply reeks of menace - the swagger with which she walks and her casual disregard for authority are things that mark her out as a maverick.

The one feature that draws the most attention, however, is her brilliant green eyes - the exact same shade of a TIE Interceptor's laser blasts. Her eyes seem to gleam with murderous intent and a fire that not even a decade of war has been able to douse, and the rest of the squadron fear her. She is a killer, and it shows in everything that she says and does. She might be beautiful, but almost no-one has been able to see any hint of woman beyond her veil of sheer belligerence.

Personality[edit]

Every now and then, someone is born with a killer's instinct. They feel no sorrow or compunctions about taking lives, and doubt and guilt don't keep them up at night. For these people, murder is a simple and mundane act, no different than making breakfast or reading a book. For some people, the value of human life was burned out of them so early and so thoroughly that death simply has no hold over them - they just don't care.
Vakma Sekhmet is one of those people.

Used to having to fight to defend herself and not trusting anyone, Vakma is willing to throw a punch at the drop of a hat, and it is only her unmatched skill in the cockpit and her unflinching obedience of direct orders that has kept her from getting booted clear out of the Imperial Fighter Corps. She is aggressive, cocky and loud, and has a nasty habit of underestimating everyone around her. She is very careful to maintain an aura of aggressive indifference, and it scares off almost everyone.

The only people that seem to be able to see past her walls and see that there is still a person beneath them are Kal Jaego and Tannis Soladi. Kal, she despises for what she feels is his condescending nature - frankly, she feels that he's an old, overrated soldier who's about ready for retirement. The only person she seems to not hate is Tannis - the kid is just too kind-hearted and naive to be a good target for her rage, and despite herself, she feels a connection with him. Hell, she might even like the absent-minded genius.

Doesn't mean she won't beat the snot out of him from time to time.

History[edit]

Vakma doesn't talk much about her history, but it is generally known that she was a street-kid on Nar Shadaa; more than enough to explain her jaded nature and her addiction to Corellian Ale.
