Justy Tyler

History[edit]

Justy Euki Tyler was born to a well-off family: his mother was a neurosurgeon, and his father was an architect. Intelligent and a fast learner, Justy never had to work for anything in his life. He had a good allowance without having to do chores (that was what droids were for, after all). He got good grades without even trying, and he had no difficulty making friends. This left him with a happy, go-lucky attitude and absolutely no work ethic. At all. He didn't even need to get a job when he left school, instead attending a prestigious academy on his parent's funding. His days were spent partying and having fun, instead of studying as he should have. He probably would have gotten away with living like that forever, had his parents not both died in a freak air taxi accident.

Terrified by the possibility of having to work for a living, he came up with an insane plan. Join the Empire. They would pay for his food, his clothes and his medical bill. If he got a desk-job, it'd be the easiest thing in the world, and after he retired, he'd be able to live comfortably on a military pension. It was, to his mind, fool-proof. Unfortunately, he forgot that he was qualified with spacecraft (as a hobby), and found himself assigned as a co-pilot to a military shuttle instead. He considered trying to get a transfer to a desk job, but that's too much like hard work. As it is, he liked his job. He sat in a chair, and every now and then he pressed a button. And that is quite literally all he had to do. Sure, there's the risk of death, but he tried not to let it get to him.

Recently, he was transferred to the Imperial Starfighter Corps in order to replace losses incurred over the recent, desperate fighting. Needless to say, the idea of actually being in a real battle in something without heavy armour terrifies the heck out of him. He's madly writing his will in preparation for his first mission, utterly convinced that he is going to die.

How he got his rank is a mystery. Fortunately, he never thinks to exploit it.

Personality[edit]

Justy is quite literally the epitome of laziness. He's never done a hard day's work in his life, and he doesn't plan on starting anytime soon. He's laid-back, relaxed, and completely unwilling to do anything more than the bare minimum. His intelligence, decent looks and charm even mean he doesn't have to work hard at finding women, though he seems to think committing to a relationship is too much like effort. He hasn't bothered to make any real friends, and if there's anything more to his personality than his sheer laziness and irresponsibility, no-one's seen it yet.

Having flown with Tony Vincent for years now, the two have developed a close friendship, and their good-natured bantering serves as a source of humour for their squadron.
