Biography[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Tall and very athletic, Kolt Orzso exercises daily to keep in shape. He has a broad back, large hands, dark brown hair and light brown eyes. He is usually found wearing a standard issued flight suit, thus always being ready to jump into action.

Personality[edit]

One of the best pilots in all the Vast Empire, yet the man chooses not to make a big deal out of it. He is not necessarily humble so much as simply does not appreciate being in the spotlight.

Although he has racked dozens of confirmed kills, he also does not suffer from any guilt or regret as a consequence. As far as Kolt is concerned this is merely a job and nothing else.

He has proven himself both loyal and dependable, always being there for when his former Squadron Commanders or Wing Commanders needed him. Seth Qorbin in particular ended up needing him quite a bit - especially in regards to day to day management issues.

Although in a fight he can fly both solo or part of a group, outside of combat he is pretty easygoing and friendly with his fellow colleagues. Stern at times, but always fair as well...

History[edit]

Born on Tague, Kolt Orzso wasted no time in joining the Vast Empire's Naval Academy as soon as he was able to. Unlike many of the other recruits he did not choose to do so in order to escape a crappy living, or to seek out glory, or to simply serve the Empire. No, the man instead joined because he wished simply to fly. He wanted to be able to travel between stars, he wanted to quickly traverse the galaxy and wanted to experience more of the things it had to offer. He wanted to explore...

Kolt graduated the Academy in the first 5% of his class, being offered a position in one of the better squadrons within the Starfighter Corps. It did not take long for him to prove himself both a good pilot as well as a reliable person too. He made Flight Leader within months and by the end of the year he had further risen up to the position of Squadron XO.

He was forced to take over as Squadron Commander when his CO was shot down by a New Republic fighter - a fighter he made sure to dispatch in the very same encounter. Although saddened by the loss of his CO, Kolt actually proved himself a very good leader, continuing to both improve on a personal level as well as also managing to increase his new squadron's performance as well.

Command eventually took notice and transferred him to an even better squadron. The change also allowed him to experiment flying with the improved TIE Avenger - a craft he had easily tamed and mastered as became evident by his further improved results in the field. It was around this time that the man was invited to join the most elite Starfighter Wing of them all, Javelin Wing. He readily accepted of course and later ended up learning that it was the newly appointed Wing Commander that specifically asked for him and his squadron.

That was when Kolt Orzso first met with the new Wing Commander, Seth Qorbin. Relations between them were fairly distant and entirely professional at first but as the two survived battle after battle, the veteran pilots ended up meeting more and more, talking and planning - even competing against one another, in either simulated runs or real exercises.

Kolt was rather happy when Qorbin once more asked for him after getting transferred to another wing. He would no longer fly as a Squadron Commander himself but rather would take the role of the latter's XO. Although the position was lower than he might've deserved, the chance of flying with some of the best pilots the Empire had to offer more than made up for it. The man immediately accepted and signed his transfer papers.

The time he spend in Vornskr was filled with excitement, Kolt actually ending up learning quite a few new tricks from some of the other hotshot pilots. He also knew that the squadron's success was in no small measure owed to the CO's vision and at times strange ability to lead. When asked to once more transfer - this time as a mere Flight Leader aboard a small Carrack vessel, Kolt Orzso actually hesitated. On one hand he had a good thing going in his current position. On the other hand Qorbin had managed to lead him to whole new experiences that he otherwise might never have stumbled across on his own. After a day's long deliberation the man finally reached his answer - and that answer involved once more signing a set of transfer papers...
