My House Could Blow Your House Up[edit]

The Shrike is Zorgn's personal Scurrg H-6 Bomber and current living space. Rather large for a fighter class, the cost of keeping it docked and stocked at the local starport was somewhat staggering and the decision to forgo more permanent housing in favor of the Shrike was an easy way to save ICs. The absolute awesomeness of having a home that flew and rained down explosive death on the unfortunate skittering plebs below had nothing to do the decision. At all.

Some major structural modifications to the ship were made to accommodate Zorgn's extended time living in the ship. The living areas for three crew members were condensed into one smaller room for him alone, and the gunner and navigator crew members were replaced by an R3 and R2 unit, respectively. The passenger quarters as well have been condensed and is a small room with a set of bunk beds and a private refresher room inaccessible from the rest of the ship. With the extra space afforded by the reduction of quarters, the main living area was expanded and is soon to be filled with space-safe entertainment gear. Currently it contains chairs and tables bolted to the floor and a compact kitchen/pantry. As well, the cargo area has been slightly expanded to cope with the amounts of junk Zorgn carries with him. Armor, weapons, even his Wandering Flier airspeeder are stored inside.

Under the floor of the ship is a hold just tall enough for the R3 unit to work in. Contained down there are the ship's primary weapons systems and engine maintenance panels. the energy bomblet generator takes up the center space, surrounded by a double layer rack for the bombs themselves and an access panel for directing the bomb chute for limited aiming and controlling the projectile launcher. Forward of the bomb chute, said projectile launcher is surrounded by racks of secured munitions. Eight torpedoes, four mines, and eight cluster missile canisters containing six miniature homing rockets. The pilot calls into the intercom for a round to be loaded, specifies a target, and the R3 sees it done. Remotely controlled robotic arms load the projectile, R3 programs in the target, and fires when ready.

Of the weapons systems, only the six laser cannons are directly at the pilot's control, with the dorsal turret being a low-tech AI in itself. That said, six laser cannons are nothing to be scoffed at, as Zorgn will be quick to tell you, and even quicker to order you bombed if you make an issue of it. The R3 is not the deadliest being on the ship, by pure virtue of Zorgn owning it, tax, title, and license.

History[edit]

Zorgn does not quite know how he acquired the ship. The ship was somewhat out of place, parked at the front of the building he apparently went on a killing spree in on the Outer Rim. It possibly explains the fact that there were many vehicle parts and craters, but no vehicles around the deserted building. The location of the navigator and gunner for the ship is still unknown, but Zorgn is unwilling to dwell on this since the ship may or may not have been his and he may or may not have killed the missing crew. Either way, the ride back aboard it must have been fun indeed, because he still cannot remember it. This may explain the disheartening lack of alcohol on the ship.
