`1LT|SI_Angel	Good afternoon everyone and welcome to another Vast Empire Weekly Meeting. There has been a lot going on this week and we'll try not to keep you too long.
`1LT|SI_Angel	We'll kick thing off with the Army report, given by yours truly.
`1LT|SI_Angel	This week saw the start of the first Army ESC in eight years, which is an incredible day for us as a Corps. We've had a flurry of activity in all aspects of the competition: Gaming, Graphics, Writing, you name it.
`1LT|SI_Angel	Thus far I am extremely pleased with the effort put forth not only on the amount of posts written, but the quality of the writing itself. However, posts are still losing points for simple things like grammar and spelling. A quick spell check can easily earn you an additional .5-1 points on your posts. This may not seem like a lot, but believe me it will add up by the end of the competition.
`1LT|SI_Angel	Also the graphics department has been seeing some, but not many, submissions. Even if you've never done graphics before, this is the perfect opportunity to learn. Many of us (including myself) would be willing to sit down and try to help you through Photoshop or other editing software.
`1LT|SI_Angel	Gaming wise, I hope that many of you will take advantage of General Rizzit's single player game policies, as it is a way to rack up major points when you aren't writing. Just remember the screenshots. As we all know, "SS or it didn't happen."
`1LT|SI_Angel	Finally, I have updated standings for you on the ESC. I took the scores down this week mainly because I wanted to add some suspense to the results of the competition. I will, however, post the scores every Sunday and take them down again Monday morning.
`1LT|SI_Angel	The results for this week (unofficial since there was a problem with graphics score entries) are:
`1LT|SI_Angel	1st Place - BlackJack - 85%
`1LT|SI_Angel	2nd Place - RAIDERS - 36.8%
`1LT|SI_Angel	3rd Place - Jester - 32.8%
`1LT|SI_Angel	4th Place - Iron Horse - 30.2%
`1LT|SI_Angel	5th Place - Wraith - 16.2%
`1LT|SI_Angel	6th Place - Paladin - 11.1%
`1LT|SI_Angel	Remember that these scores are relative, so major changes are possible.
`1LT|SI_Angel	It's still early, and there are still five weeks to go, so there's plenty of time to catch those waskilly wabbits known as BlackJack.
`1LT|SI_Angel	Now, one final piece of information from me before I hand things over to the Navy: The Short Story Competition is still running, so please remember to work on your entries on the side if you can. I am considering moving the deadline out until the end of the ESC since I dropped that on your laps as well, but have not yet decided. Stay tuned for an update.

`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	Howdy folks, I do indeed have the Naval update.
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	First off, I hate to disappoint those of you actually looking forward to the Navy's Elite Squadron Competition, but there is going to be a ONE more day delay due to some issues with my computer
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	And, through some discussion with art, we have another minor change
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	Both squadrons are unfortunately understaffed either through AWOL checks or leaves, this was unforeseen when we started planning the ESC as at the time both of you were doing quite well
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	But, things happened, as they usually do, and RL seems to sweep away our attempts to have an excellent ESC that we deserve in the Navy
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	The ESC has now been renamed this year to the Elite Pilot Competition, those of you who are still around get to compete for a much more competitive title I would think, as rather than one or two competitors, you have the entire Navy's individuals
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	Some rule change tweaks will occur obviously, and you'll see those up tomorrow morning along with the storyline post
`1LT|JRN|Riqimo	Nothing much to report on the individual squadrons at this time, so I believe that concludes this meeting's Naval report
`1LT|SI_Angel	Thanks, Doc.
`1LT|SI_Angel	I have two final notes from the Army.
`1LT|SI_Angel	Corporal Wrex has been in service with us for a year now, so he will receiving an upgrade from [AS-H] to [AS-1].
`1LT|SI_Angel	And finally, as of July 13th I've been in service for 6 years, and will be THAT guy and upgrade my [AS-5] to an [AS-6].
`1LT|SI_Angel	That concludes the division reports for this week. If anyone has anything to add, please PM me now.
