THE VE TODAY SPOTLIGHT
Posted by VE Reporter
Welcome back my fellow Imperials to another issue of The VE Today Spotlight! My next guest has recently returned from... some form of absence, and now he's back... ... anyway, he's a man. *checks his notes* Yes, he's a man. Give it up for Senior Sergeant Dragoon!
*Plays the sound of applause*
VE Today: So, how did you originally find The Vast Empire?
Dragoon: I was on the Zone playing XWA a little over two years ago when Piett recruited me into the Navy. I ended up moving up really high in the Navy and wanted some more of a "fun" experience, and figured being in the Army as a lower ranked member would be the more fun experience than flying a desk.
VE Today: I see. So, what do you think about our current activity situation at hand, and what changes would you make (if any) to increase activity?
Dragoon: To be completely honest, I would chop about half of the dead weight we have on board. I think this has been something the VE has needed to do for years, even though at times I would've been a casualty of the chopping, and that's to be a lot less lenient with inactivity. However, I think broadening the gaming horizons and perhaps joining some interclub competitions in the future would not only make the VE more active, but also more recognizable on the map of current Star Wars clubs.
VE Today: What do you think of the members? On a scale of 1 to 10?
Dragoon: On the whole right now, maybe a 4. It seems a lot of members are horribly inactive, although that's seeming to become a problem of the pass with a recent surge of activity in the army.
VE Today: Ah yes. Can understand that. *cough* Do you have a particular role model you try to mold yourself after? If so, what attributes does that individual have that make you view him or her as a role model?
Dragoon: A Role Model in the Vast Empire? Hell no, I'm the best one there is... ;) Although I really respect everything Fury has done for the Vast Empire in his time here. I don't think, in my tenure in the VE, there has been a commander that has in anyway matched his activity and actions.
VE Today: *Slicks back his hair* Yeah, I'm pretty "Hell yes"-material myself. What's your favorite Star Wars movie, and why?
Dragoon: Empire Strikes Back. I'd like to think the reasons obvious.
VE Today: Do you consider yourself a good trooper/member? Why?
Dragoon: At times in the past I have considered myself a good member of the VE, although at other times I thought of myself as little more than a burden to the organization. At the present moment, I would like to think I'm back on track to being a good member.
VE Today: Who is your favorite Star Wars character and why?
Dragoon: In the movies it would be Emperor Palpatine, simply because he's such a great villain. In the books, Thrawn would be because of his incredible ability to grasp situations.
VE Today: Yep. Big "Wootle!" for them... Describe your character. What are his likes and dislikes?
Dragoon: Ah, my character is a young rapscalian, if you will. He enjoys the simpler things in life: porn, alcohol, tobacco, and blowing stuff up. Not much unlike me in real life, now that I think of it...
VE Today: What has been your favorite moment thus far in The Vast Empire?
Dragoon: There was a time during Chapter 7, when Kiption and I stayed up a few nights in a row until about four in the morning writing on it. The stories were full of cheesy puns and painfully stupid humor, and got us both promoted. I'd have to say that was at least one of the best memories I have of the VE.
VE Today: And lastly... What did you have for breakfast?
Dragoon: A bloody mary and two shots of vodka.
VE Today: Yes! We've got one of my grandmother's favorite sayings in living form here. Maybe I shouldn't say it... bah, I will. I can live with myself. "Live fast, die young, and make a beautiful corpse!"
That's it! Thank you for tuning in for today's issue of The VE Today Spotlight! Tune in tomorrow for our next guest!
