THE VE TODAY SPOTLIGHT
Posted by VE Reporter
Welcome my fellow Imperials to another issue of The VE Today Spotlight! My next guest is a man who loves to see activity, practice activity, and is one of the Army's few active/long-posted story writers, so give it all up for Sergeant Fallen Angel!
*Plays the sound of applause*
VE Today: Welcome to today's issue of The VE Today, Sergeant. So, how did you originally find The Vast Empire?
Fallen Angel: I was recruited in I believe...January of 2000 by the current army CoT Colonel
Cosmic. I was playing JK against him on the Zone, and he invited me to join the VE. I originally joined as Jubei Nimiichi then, and have since rejoined as Fallen
Angel due to past...misunderstandings...
VE Today: Ah yes, the past. The good old days. JK brings back a lot of memories too... like the days when my good friend Cosmic owned those Zoner's for 7 bloody years! Ahem. What do you think about our current activity situation at hand, and What changes would you make (if any) to increase activity?
Fallen Angel: What do I think of the activity? Well maybe if there was any I'd have an opinion on it. ;). Actually I have a big problem with it. I think in the last comp I made 3 sets of back to back posts, which was unthinkable back in the day. I played 3 games for the comp as well in 2 months...I would come on irc and noone would want to play JO, or couldnt, or was too busy or whatever. Since we are a club that recruits based on gaming, I believe that it is imperative that we solve this gaming lull. to increase activity, I'd go to one of two extremes...either be a little more loose with promos, or be more harsh with unexcused inactivity. Also,
something to spend our creds on would be a definite morale and activity booster. I know such things are in the works, but I remember having a casino, and a
stockmarket when I first joined, as well as having to spend creds on things such as living expenses, meal costs and such things. That made the experience more real and more enjoyable in my mind.
VE Today: Uh huh, uh huh. You're a long-winded fellow, aren't you? What do you think of the members? On a scale of 1 to 10, if I dare ask...
Fallen Angel: Well it would have to depend on the individual. I have problems with a few members, but those are relatively small. The lowest I'd go on someone would probably be a 6, but on average, Id give the VE members a 9 out of 10, just because even when they aren't terribly active, they still make this a fun place to be.
VE Today: Do you have a particular role model you try to mold yourself after? If So, what attributes does that individual have that make you view him or Her as a role model?
Fallen Angel: I dont have a role model really. I try and find my own path in whatever I do, and not to follow in anyones footsteps. I try and make my character as original as possible. I believe that I could honestly state however, that I see each and every person as a potential role model. I take the best that each person has to offer, and synthesize it into me, or at least attempt to.
VE Today: What's your favorite Star Wars movie, and why?
Fallen Angel: Keep the boos and gasps to a minimum, but "The Phantom Menace." Only because duel of fates is perhaps one of the greatest musical moments of all time. The dual saber of darth maul started a whole new era of lightsabers, and Liam Neeson is just a super cool dude.
VE Today: Uh, yeah. Super cool, and a bit groovy! *takes a sip of ale* Do you consider yourself a good trooper/member? Why?
Fallen Angel: I consider myself an excellent trooper/member. I want to see this club be what it
used to be. I tried to do that in the competition, making posts that left opportunities for other squads to get back into the fray, and challenging everyone
to JO NF guns. I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with new and exciting ideas for the VE, and my recent promo to ASL of the best squad in the VE (RAIDERS w00t), has given me a better opportunity to voice my ideas. I try and be a role model now, since having greatly matured in my time away. What's left of Jubei is only the good, and none of the bad.
VE Today: Who is your favorite Star Wars character and why?
Fallen Angel: Chewie. I dont need a reason, hes a big teddy bear ;)
VE Today: I could spend all day commenting on your love of hairy things, but I'll refrain. *grins* Describe your character. What are his likes and dislikes?
Fallen Angel: Fallen Angel is the brother of the late Jubei Nimiichi. His real name is Jikkyo Nimiichi. He earned his nickname for being an "angel" before his brother's murder. After that, his conscience disappeared, and he would kill before leaving loose
ends. His lack of regard for his own safety and his numerous, sometimes exorbitant explosions helped his squad be known as the crazies. Angel is a complex character, because underneath his cold demeanor there is still the same good kid that he used to be, and that peeks out from time to time.
Angel hates slackers. He hates immature, undisciplined troopers. He hates cleaning up after people, he hates anything that shoots at him, runs at him, or tries to kill him. He hates bacta, he hates gungans.
Angel likes explosives....oh and sniper rifles, thermal detonators, swords, throwing knives, espionage, infiltration, and assassination...basically all the black ops and blowing stuff up.
VE Today: What has been your favorite moment thus far in The Vast Empire?
Fallen Angel: That would have to be, hands down, winning the ESC as an IH member...when was
that? 2 years ago? 2001 I believe. that was the most fun I had in a competition. I had the greatest squad, with Japer, Timber, TJ, Zed and Stormie, and getting to actually USE the pink bathrobes and bunny slippers on a mission just made it that much better....Oh that and winning the VE fantasy football league that same year.
VE Today: Ah yes. The Elite Squad Competition. That and the Imperial Omega Campaign were the great days of activity. Come, daydream with me... What did you have for breakfast?
Fallen Angel: the breakfast of champions....Crunchberries
VE Today: Haha! Oh, hahaha! Ahem. Thanks for the interview, Sergeant.
There you have it folks. Sergeant FA. Good man. Good lad. He's one of those few people who knows his breakfast (aside from Dragoon). Join me tomorrow for our next vict... interviewee.
