ARC RESCUE MISSION IN PROGRESS – A LIVE REPORT BY

Greetings, citizens of the Vast Empire. This is Imperial Recon Droid IM4-099 – but you can call me ‘Face’ – reporting live from the surface of the ice-planet Anteevy, where a rescue mission is currently underway to retrieve Advanced Recon Commando team Theta. My master has informed me that this elite team were declared Missing In Action two days ago, and have been tracked to an underground facility located on this planet. Wildcard Platoon, famous for a reputation as the best of the best, has been sent in to retrieve them. We are now crossing to live footage of the action as it unfolds.
As you can see here, our Sentinel-Class Landing Craft has just touched down on the surface, and the four squads are disembarking now. It appears that Blackjack Squad is taking point – their distinctive red armour is making them 72% more visible on the surface of this planet. The squads are splitting up now, likely to find separate insertion points. This operation appears to be based around stealth, and smaller units as 38% less likely to be detected than a platoon-level force. Okay, it appears as if Blackjack has located an air vent, and are making a clean, quiet insertion into the base. Blackjack are not known for their stealth, but it appears that the presence of two scout troopers seems to be changing that.
The two scouts are entering first…the rest of the squad has formed a perimeter to ensure that they are not ambushed. Two more troopers are stepping up to the vent and – yes, it looks as if one of the troopers has jumped in without the aid of a rappel line! I calculate a 46% chance that he will acquire damage! The rest of the team has infiltrated, and it appears that Blackjack Squad has made a clean insertion into the installation. Oh, I do hope that master does not become damaged on this mission.
One moment – We’re seeing an explosion on the back door of the underground facility…yes. It appears that Jester Squad has attempted to use explosives in order to cut out the blast doors of the emergency exit. We’ve got a trooper knocked down onto the snow, but he appears undamaged. Yes, he’s getting back up to his feet now. Jester Squad has just made their way inside the facility. Jester Squad has recently been re-formed, and the members have a lot to prove. I think I can see Major Havock, the commander of Phoenix Company, with them. She must be feeling pretty embarrassed at that mishap.
I have been informed that this operation is classified, and I am not permitted to enter the facility, so I will continue to provide coverage and speculation from outside the facility. Wildcard Platoon is facing an unknown number of an unknown type of enemy, but they are the finest soldiers the Vast Empire has to offer, and the Imperial Propaganda department has informed me that I am completely confident that the operation will reach a successful conclusion.
