History[edit]

With an influx of new recruits, the Naval High Command decided it was time to reopen Aegis Squadron. Assigned as the squadron commander, chipmunk man decided there was no better way to get his new pilots then to pit them against his executive officer, Jaden in a simulated mission. Aegis Squadron is to escort the recently repaired dreadnaught, the Impervious back to Imperial space.

The simulation chipmunk man has prepared for the squadron has two Lt. Calamari Cruiser, accompanied by an X-Wing squadron lead by Jaden. He also has an addition A-Wing squadron at his disposal.

Mission Objectives[edit]

Aegis Squadron:

  • Defeat the attacking Rebel fleet.
  • Ensure the dreadnaught, the Impervious survives.

Jaden:

Personnel Involved[edit]

Aegis Squadron[edit]

Squadron Commander: chipmunk man
Executive Officer: Jaden
Flight Members: Hunter

Opposing Forces[edit]

1 squadron of X-Wings (lead by Jaden)
2 Lt. Calamari Cruisers

Outcome[edit]

As the two forces engaged, Jaden and an accompanying bot managed to shoot down a TIE each (one was Joshua). In the moments following, Hunter succeeded in destroying an enemy X-Wing as did an unknown squadronmate, only to find out they had lost a third (bluman). Following a careless collision between their two crafts, Jaden and Arcanine engaged in a dogfight from which only Jaden survived. Twayblade was also incapacitated. Aegis Squadron managed to dispose of a few more X-Wing fighters.

Outnumbered four to three, Chip, Hunter and Mallard began their attack run. They managed to take out one more fighter before Hunter was critically damaged. Sacrificing himself, he plunged his craft into the back of one of the two remaining AI X-Wings destroying them both. The two TIEs managed to team up and destroy the last bot, before Jaden got Mallard in his sights and finished him.

Engaged in a dogfight, Jaden fought for his 'life' against a superior performance by chipmunk man. Meanwhile, the Calamari Cruisers were continuously hammering the Impervious. Both Jaden and the dreadnaught seemed to be destroyed simultaneously, though the simulator revealed Jaden's side had emerged victorious from the mission.

After Effects[edit]

This mission marked the first for the newly reformed Aegis Squadron and the new recruits Hunter and Mallard were given the chance (and performed admirably) to show the rest of their squadron what they could do. The mission also provided the squadron, mostly newer recruits to bond in a safe environment.

This mission also showed chipmunk man and Jaden what they had to work with and what areas needed improving. It was decided they would consult an old friend of Jaden's named Ben in hopes of better training their new pilots.
