Introduction[edit]
When a squad gears up for action, they should pull equipment from their squad arsenal, then gain mission-specific gear along with specialty items, all before they consider bringing personal equipment. This system works out a “Bundle” system where troopers can put together what they desire to bring on a mission. Some missions will allow so many bundles to be carried, some will prohibit certain bundles, and others might simply make choices for the character, or send them in with practically nothing.
Bundles are broken up into five types:
- Standard Squad Bundles – All members of a squad are assigned a bundle standard to their unit, representing materials they all carry in regards to their squad specialization.
- Mission Bundles – These basic gear packages are gathered by the Corps to match their most common mission assignments, profiles, and details.
- Terrain Bundles - For instances where the environment is hostile or simply exotic, the troopers may require specialized gear, as provided by these bundles.
- Duty Bundles – These gear packages are best suited to the various roles a character may perform for his squad.
- Weapon Bundles – These gear packages augment the weapons provided by the basic squad bundle, and are intended primarily for dangerous missions and military hardware specialists.
When gearing up for a mission, the standard procedure is to assign the standard squad bundle, a mission bundle and terrain bundle both chosen by the squad leader, a duty bundle (or weapon bundle for heavy weapon specialists) chosen by the trooper and approved by the squad leader. The trooper may then make a choice of a personal small arm, usually a blaster pistol, to take in addition to the above. Some missions may call for more or less choices, as determined by the squad leader and platoon commander.
