Physical Description: Tall and heavily built, bearing several scars from his years of being a smuggler's mate. He will often use his weight to his advantage in combat, throwing himself at his foes with no regard for his personal safety. As a communications officer. He will not be expected to go into any hand to hand combat. This is lucky, as a battle with a rival group almost led to his right hand being cut off. It survived but the hand remained withered. Rather then replacing the hand with cybernatics, he decided to keep it as a reminder of what he had lossed.

Emotional Characteristics: Emotionally appears sound, but deep inside has quite a lot of pain. Buried deep under the dark sense of humour and shining eyes lies a secret which nobody else knows. For a withered arm was not the only thing he acquired during that battle. He is reluctant to talk about it, to anyone.

History: Born on Corellia in the early years of the Empire. This twenty-four year old is no stranger to trouble. At only a few months old, he was threatened with a penknife by a smuggler, but was rescued by his father. Some years later, his father mysteriously disapearred ostensibly to gather information on his enemies. While his mother sank into a deep depression, Garen left his homeworld with a smuggler's crew. Leaving his mother with only a brief note was the final straw for the depressed women. She took her own life three days later. Garen was guilt-ridden at her death but nevertheless decided to stay with the smuggler and his crew. An engagement on Mimban left him with a withered arm... And a deep,dark secret.
