Jace The Pirate

Appearance

If there is one thing that's obvious about this man's appearance it is the effects of the years of self-inflicted stress and trauma. What was once a face full of confidence and power is now a face that shows almost nothing but bitterness and contempt. Something somewhere in his life went awry and sent him down a path that didn't feel quite right and the look in his green eyes, heavy with dark bags, showed that clearly. A head of rusted black hair, greying and unkempt, was kept in a high fade and tied back into a messy bun. His upper lip that was all too often seemingly frozen into a scowl was covered in a scraggly rusted black and greying mustache, which was of course accompanied by an equally as scraggly beard of the same color. Luckily he was able to keep most of the muscle he cultivated while in the military, however the recent years of a more sedentary life style have made the chub all the more obvious. The extra weight combined with standing at the rather average height of 5'7" gives him a stocky yet strong build.

Personality

• Rash, and abrasive. Has the tendency to act without thinking, especially if he feels personally wronged
• A bit cocky. There is an air of confidence that sometimes seems to be misplace
• Outgoing in a way that is sometimes annoying, he info dumps if he gets too excited about a particular subject

History

Parents were tech experts that traveled a lot in order to work with their clientele

Jace’s caregiver was an old Gungan that Jace ended up looking up to as a parental figure, never seeing much of his birth parents

Slowly became more and more distant from his parents, even on the rare occasions that they would go back to Naboo and spend as much time as they could with him

Jace was never bitter about the lack of love and attention from his parents, part of him understood why. They still made sure that he was living a good life by sending credits to the gungan caretaker the entire time Jace lived with him It was clear, though, that something from his parents rubbed off on him. Even as a child he was fascinated with different gadgets and tech.

It didn’t take long for his interest to blossom into a passion. That passion led him to establish a life in Coruscant as soon as he was old enough to travel the system on his own.

While on the city planet he made his living by taking odd jobs in tech repair or network maintenance, eventually growing a small local reputation.

This reputation made a small tech-gang aware of him, and they soon recruited him to their cause. The gang was a group of couriers who sought to continue to flow of information despite a corporate group attempting to essentially take full control over the local cityscape.

In working with a gang Jace naturally ended up getting into legal trouble here and there, and soon he found himself not only being a courier for information but also for recreational drugs, mostly Spice, Death Sticks, and Millaflower. Jace introduced the millaflower into the gang’s inventory since he grew up on Naboo and was able to easily get a decent source of it

The corporate group employed a rival gang to push back against Jace’s gang, also trying to take over the source for refined Millaflower once the corporate leader found out about Millaflower flowing in the streets

The rivalry between Jace’s gang, the rival gang, and the corporate group came to a head when the rival gang staged a massive ambush and attack against Jace’s gang. A lot of lives were lost and those who survived were framed as extremists who tried to level the city during the attack.

During the attack Jace ended up losing his right arm. Thankfully being part of a tech gang has its perks when it comes to suddenly needing a cybernetic.

It took a handful of months to heal from the ambush attack and getting used to the new arm. During that time

Jace had to get away, he and members of the gang marked for death by their rivals. His gang was forcibly disbanded and he and the surviving members acknowledged their loss and scattered to the wind.

Enlisted in the Imperial Army in order to pursue further education in tech and communications and to get away from the threat of being murdered by a rival gang. A few others from Jace’s gang also enlisted.
