Katherine Sato is the executive officer of the ECNS Journey. Known for her disciplined personality as a commanding officer.

Background[edit]
Pre-Military[edit]
A child of a Military Colonel, Katherine Sato grew up in the city of London. The youngest of three children, she showed a distinct interest in flying from an early age. She attended education at the London Starflight Academy from the age of fifteen to the age of seventeen, when her father and oldest brother, Mark Sato (Also a member of the armed forces, a corporal) were killed by the orbital bombardment of the planet Palska. At this point she resigned from the academy and enlisted in the EC Mechfighter Corps.
The Mechfighter Corps[edit]
Katherine showed expert proficiency in Mechfighter piloting, as well as excellent command and tactical skills. Rapidly she accelerated to executive officer of her squadron, then Squadron Leader, being promoted to a full Squadron Lieutenant within half a year of her enlistment. Her graceful yet brutally effective dogfighting style earned her the callsign "Katana", a play on both her first name and her half-Asian heritage.
She continued to serve with the mechfighter corps for another two years.

After participating in several notable conflicts, she was recruited by Commander David Oliver to join the crew of his frigate Determination as weapons officer, at the rank of ensign. She served on the crew of this ship for a year and a half before it's destruction in the Battle of Te'hal.
She was next placed on the Warg, a destroyer, as the Tactical Officer, now double promoted to a first lieutenant. She served on this ship for two and a half years, before the new Battlecruiser Journey's construction. She then rejoined David Oliver, now a full Senior Captain, as his Executive Officer.

Appearance[edit]
Katherine is half-Asian, half-Caucasian in heritage, her features a cross between East European and Japanese. Her hair is long and black. She stands at a height of about 5'3", though she is noted to carry an aura of authority that many of her peers note as intimating.
Personality[edit]
Normally appearing to others to be a Cold and Disciplined, personal friends note her to be relaxed and sociable outside of professional atmosphere. She contains her emotions quite well, but is known to become easily irritated by irresponsible peers (Especially if outranked by him/her)
