Biography

Appearance

Makenna is an average height, average weight woman. Her hair is curly, light brown, and usually pulled back into a ponytail of some kind. Her eyes are a deep hazel and freckles adorn her face. She walks with a bounce in her step, as if the world and its burdens mean nothing to her. Her speech is similar to an Irish accent, and she uses her hands very emphatically when she’s talking. As someone who is very excitable, she has the need to vent her energy so she finds socially acceptable ways to get her ticks out without seeming too strange (i.e. rubbing her hands together because they’re cold, playing with her hair, scratching at an itch, etc.).

Personality

Makenna has always been a happy and optimistic person, even when the going got tough (though many would argue her life has been anything but hard). She is fairly naive when it comes to people, and herself, yet great at retaining factual information. Her ability to read a combat situation is remarkable considering her lack of ability in determining motives. However, she always pursues the silver lining even though deep down she feels alone and unimportant. She will remain loyal to anyone and befriend anyone unless she has an obvious reason not to. Some might even consider it dependence rather than friendship.

History

Makenna was born on a ship to her parents Ciara and Dillon O’Malley. She grew up mainly traveling between worlds since her parents hauled goods across the galaxy. Consequently Makenna grew up knowing a lot about the happenings of the universe though her parents tried to shy away from as much of the war as possible.

She was their only child so her parents relied heavily on her helping the family business. They lived a normal life this way until their ship was attacked by bandits. Their cargo was stolen and the family separated in the confusion. Makenna was left abandoned on a planet she was unfamiliar with. Having no prior teachings of survival she had to learn how to cope and fast.

It wasn’t long before she found herself among a group of outcasts. Their leader, a human named Darius, took her in despite some objections. There, she learned how to fend for herself, trained by the group to fire their stolen weapons and hunt the local fare. She built up many friendships, though the need to find her parents always pushed her to explore the world. When years passed and no sign of them appeared, she accepted that this was just going to have to be her life.

One of their many past-times was to raid the ships that came in with supplies in order to survive and even potentially sell whatever was onboard. This was always fairly successful as they had many years of practice and stolen goods at their disposal. However, one such raid against an Imperial group called the Vast Empire backfired. They captured several of the raiders, including Makenna, and brought them onboard.

Makenna was then given a choice because the imperials saw some potential in her: join the Vast Empire or face captivity and enslavement. She chose to join the VE, resolving that this would be the perfect opportunity to find her parents.
