Outside Turn

The outside turn is a 360-degree turn with the cockpit on the outside of the turn as opposed to the normal turn where the cockpit would be on the inside of the turn.

• Fly straight and level at 400 knots or more. Bank the aircraft into a 90-degree turn. (1)
• Notice the direction of your heading change. Are the numbers getting larger or smaller? Now, with the aircraft flying perfectly sideways, push all the way forward on the stick. Watch your heading indicator; the numbers should reverse direction. (2)
• Continue the turn until you have turned 360 degrees; then level off. (3)
