Pilot Personality

A lot of times, people will try to make themselves into some kind of super hero by taking the best traits from every type of personality; we don’t necessarily allow that. Every man or women has specific gifts that make them unique, but their faults do similar things. If everyone was good at everything, nothing would be interesting; a story wouldn’t be a story without its characters and we feel the need to give people some examples of pro’s and con’s of a flyer’s personality. While the character might be very quiet and not outspoken at all, they might be a Highflier who does nothing but showoff when they get the chance. This makes them an incredible pilot, but leaves them open to easy attack because they like to mess around so much. Our point is this- if you’re going to have some major ability that gives you so much, let it hurt you a little as well; this can only add to intrigue. The battle within the character is what a story is really about.

Wingman

his type of pilot basically requires a wingman; they like to shoot or maneuver in coordination with this close ally. Whether it be that they feel safe or just need to have someone with them in order to function to the highest degree, no one can really be sure.

Bandit

Pilots who worry about getting their kill and not much else are the epitome of this style. If they are with a wingman and they think he’s doing good, they may very well shoot off and take on someone else; leaving their wingman high and dry. They normally have a high kill rate and have been known to take extreme chances; they’re also pretty good pilots in terms of skill.

Ace

This type of pilot is about the group and does exactly what he or she thinks needs to be done in order to succeed for their purpose. They stick very close to wingmen and comply with orders to the utmost efficiency; they can be very bold when they think they have something important to do. These pilots are extremely organized and tend to go by the book.

High Flier

Likes to show off by use of ostentatious and unnecessary maneuvers; often uses interesting but innovative attacks and evasive maneuvers. This pilot might take the time to put in an extra barrel roll even though it’s an open shot- they feel not only the need to impress others, but to test them-selves on every level. This is their downfall, but despite it, they are outstanding pilots capable of pulling off unbelievable maneuvers.

Duke

This is a pilot who is totally spontaneous; he or she will do absolutely anything at any time. Split off from a wingman to put out the fire? Go into an enemy hanger bay and fire off a shot or two? They may seem stupid, but they are actually extremely tactful. They will go into a situation unprepared, but they will figure out every detail before anything actually happens.
