Rodin, was one of the planets originally assigned for Vast Empire settlement and protection by the New Imperium. It was assigned the headquarters of the Imperial Navy.

In addition, various local mining ventures were heavily invested in and expanded, particular the Quadanite ore facilities.

Economy Low-level mining was a going concern on Rodin before an Imperial presence was established. However, the existence of high-grade quadanite deposits made the planet an appealing target for development. Quadanite is the ore form of the metal quadanium, a key component in the manufacture of the hulls of TIE starfighters.
