Secret facility - Galactic Empire (abandoned)

Romero is the location of a former Imperial weapons lab, specially in chemical and biological weapons. After the Battle of Jakku, a fractured Empire was unable and unwilling to maintain the costs of protection and defending the planet as it should have.

As it was an especially secret and remote base, it was only listed as a supply depot in official astronavigation charts, which meant that scavengers would occasionally happen upon the facility.

Government
With the removal of active Imperial military rule, the planet has been overrun by survivors of those subjected to various biological experiments. On occasion, military forces deploy to attempt to retake the primary laboratory installations in order to destroy live experiments and the infected.

Notes & References
The planet's name is a reference to the great George A. Romero, creator of the modern movie zombie.

The moons are a reference to Mira Grant/Seanan McGuire and Max Brooks, zombie writers in their own right.
