Santigani Quay

The Santigani Quay Reserve Fleet is located near the planet Marzoon. It is naturally defended by a stable asteroid field that covers one third of the approach to the installation. The rest is defended in a more tradition manner - minefields, gun and missile emplacements, and patrol craft and starfighters. The central core of the installation is defended by a couple of damaged and rebuilt Golan-II stations.

Purpose

The Imperial Maritime & Stellar Trade Administration (IMSTA) maintains a fleet of vessels that serve as a reserve of ships for galactic defense and imperial emergency purposes. The reserve fleet program was begun after the Clone Wars to maintain older vessels for possible future use. One of the reserve fleet storage sites is Santigani, and was incorporated into the Vast Empire faction, which maintained the vessels and facility. Santigani is one of the primary sites for storage of Late Republic Era vessels, most of pre-Clone Wars vintage. In addition, it was one of the main collection points of early Imperial escort frigates and armed transports, such as the Star Galleon.

Facilities and Crews

IMSTA maintains a facilities crew of 7,000 technicians and mechanics, along with 2,000 defense contractors who man the Golan platforms and patrol vessels.

As with other IMSTA sites, naval reservists and contracted merchant marine auxiliaries provide much of the maintenance and annual shakedown flights for the assorted vessels.
