Overview[edit]

A Spec Ops Squad, Serpent Squad uses jumptrooper armour and advanced weaponry to strike at the heart of the enemy before they're even aware of their presence. Specializing in hit and run attacks, the Serpents are trained to inflict as much damage as possible in the shortest time, and each has been given basic survival training in the event of a jetpack malfunction. Like most of the other stormtrooper squads, they are based on Tadath. Their armour's standard pattern is composed of green lines across the arms, legs, and chestplate intended to invoke their namesake.

  • Jumptrooper Armor
  • Stormtrooper II Carbines
  • DC15s Holdout blasters

History[edit]

Formation[edit]

Early History[edit]

At some point during the squad's history, its first medic, Veric, was killed during a zero-g op. He was replaced by Lenix Krell. Immediately afterwards, the squad participated in an attack on a Republic base on Heracis, killing the milita and Republic forces and slicing into the base terminals before destroying it with proton charges.

Second Battle of Tadath[edit]

Overview of ESC

Defense of Fort Sexton (Fangs of the Serpent)[edit]

Serpent Squad was ordered into the air shortly before the attack on Fort Sexton in order to find and destroy two squads of Thrawnist jumptroopers attempting to scout the VE lines. The squad found and engaged the first squad, taking three troopers down in the opening seconds with rail detonators. The remaining 9 members of the first squad attacked, engaging the troopers in a close-range firefight. The second squad then attempted to ambush the Serpents. The Thrawnists suffered heavy casualties during the resulting battle, and retreated.

The Serpents gave chase, but were forced to pull back when the Thrawnists used a proton cannon. Drae, Hegan, and Lesse were left behind in the confusion, and Sergeant Melbourne decided to rescue them after reequipping.

Rescue Attempt (Never Back An Animal Into a Corner...)[edit]

The squad reequipped and launched a rescue attempt (with the exception of Rai, who'd be wounded in the earlier engagement). The squad attempted to return to the three's last known position, but came under attack from Thrawnist Army squads en route. They defeated the squads, then came under attack from and destroyed the proton cannon from earlier. Advancing through the forest and both engaging and running from Thrawnist jumptroopers and army trooper squads, the Serpents found their three comrades pinned down in a cave where they'd taken shelter from the Thrawnists.

Retreat(Carry on My Wayward Son)[edit]

The squad left together, fending off several squads of Army troopers and jumptroopers as they advanced. They were attacked by and hijacked a Thrawnist tank, which they then used to attack a convoy of vehicles. The tank was disabled, forcing the Serpents to commandeer a RTT. They were shot down and retreated on foot, coming under constant attack along the way. Upon reaching Fort Sexton, they were surrounded by three Thrawnist jumptrooper squads, only to be rescued by several VE squads led by a partially recovered Rai.

The squad presumably survived the Second Battle of Tadeth.
