History[edit]

The men of Kaph Squadron left the mSSD Atrus to do target practice in the Hoth Asteroid Belt. If they only knew what would happen that day they may have never left their bunks. During their practice session, they run into 6 A-Wing star fighters. Kaph’s SC, Bear, intercepts a badly damaged Y-Wing. But it isn’t with the NR fighters; it contains the only survivor from a New Republic attack on a Vast Imperial outpost. Though six fighters are easily destroyed, something seems to feel wrong about this to the squadron. Only moments later, the members of Kaph are ambushed by a MC80. Will our heroes be able to fend the Mon Cal and its fighter support off until back up can arrive, or will Kaph Squadron become no more?

Disclaimer
Many of the events that take place in this story are too unrealistic to be considered part of the official VEN History. Use your own discretion when judging the outcomes of this story.

First Battle
Kaph learns that the enemy force is not actually NR but is made up of a group known as the Peace Corps. They operate via traveling through time, capturing the best pilots in the galaxy, cloning them, wiping their minds, and returning them to their own time. The purpose of their existence is to alter events. They have changed the tides of the battles of Yavin, Hoth, and Coruscant. Another strange event from the story is the fact that Kaph was actually flying in circles for hours at one point in the mission. Even more bizarre are the dreams that Bear has after being injured and ejecting from his fighter. Kaph eventually fends off the enemy assault. After reviewing records of the battle, the squadron comes to the conclusion that some of the enemy fighters could have actually been hologram projections of some sort.

Second Battle
Malik ends up hearing a weird voice that tells him to go to the planet Ullyr where he will learn the solution to all their problems. He jumps out in the middle of a whole NR fleet which captures him. Bear goes into a coma on the way to rescuing Malik, he has more weird dreams. They discover that the Atrus was somehow also on the other side. With the help of allied forces, Kaph once more comes out victorious.

After Effects[edit]

There are not actually any real after effects from this mission. Parts of it are too far fetched to be taken seriously. The only discovered after effect was minor and happened recently when Than Sion mentioned that the pinball machine from this mission was in the Kaph rec room.
