Goals[edit]
The purpose of this mission was to change the specialty of Paladin from Mechanized Infantry to Unconventional Warfare before the next campaign. (See Yuka....Death Trap or Icy Hell? (HSC '07))
This mission was also used mainly as a character development story, as Paladin had just received a new SL, ASL, and new recruits.
Mission Debriefing[edit]
The mission begins with Giovanni Bryden calling a meeting in his new Squad Leaders office with the other members of his squad. As they enter his office, he notes interesting characteristics about each of them or talks to them. Soon, Giovanni Bryden gives them the reason for meeting in his office. He tells them that he is changing the Squad specialty of Paladin from Mechanized Infantry before the next campaign, but he does not tell them what he is changing it to. All he tells them is to meet him in Hangar 1141 at 0600 hours the next day.
After the meeting, many of the squad members left to do other things, but meet up in the cafeteria for dinner. After exchanges of small talk, Giovanni realizes that he is late for the shipment of new weapons and armor at the hangar, all paid for out of his own pocket. As he arrives at his living quarters, he sets his alarm for 0430 the next morning and wonders at what the squads reaction will be to the new specialty.
The next morning, Giovanni wakes early to check on the equipment before the squad gets to the hangar. As he leaves, he trips over LeGiT, who had been sleeping by the entrance after many drinks the previous night. Giovanni is glad for the company and extra help unloading the new equipment for Paladin. As he sets it up, he counts it off one more time to make sure it is all there then waits for the rest of Paladin to arrive.
As they arrive, they check off their new equipment and leave, taking their equipment with them. The story then turns into a character development story before it is abandoned due to the HSC.
