Imperial Military dress and military styles have gone through great changes over the millennia from colorful and elaborate to extremely utilitarian. Military uniforms in the form of standardized and distinctive dress, intended for identification and display, are typically a sign of organized military forces equipped by a central authority anywhere in the Galaxy, and the Vast Empire is no exception.

Both the Corps and the Navy employ similar styles to their former Imperial uniforms worn during the Rise of the Empire and the Galactic Civil War, but have several distinctions that identify them as Vast Empire Imperials.

The duty uniform typically contains no decorations such as medals or ribbons, and simply shows rank and position. Officers 'on duty' (especially those of higher ranks and/or positions) may opt to wear their black dress uniform in instead of the typical duty uniform to distinguish themselves further from enlisted personnel.

The typical duty uniform consists of:

Field Uniform[edit]

Field Uniform

If in the field and if the trooper is not of the Stormtrooper Corps (who generally wear their Stormtrooper armor), the soldiers and officers typically wear the field uniform which is similar to the duty uniform. A soldier might be able to wear his duty uniform in the field, but most typically have separate tunics and pants, so that they always have a clean, unworn duty uniform.

Rank Insignia[edit]

The former rank insignia of the Empire has seeming faded away from the Corps, new designs have arisen to reflect the unique nature of the Vast Empire. On a dress uniform, the rank is usually quite clearly visible, marked on the upper arm, and generally in a similar pin on the chest.
