Biography[edit]

Not much is known about Avery's past, except that his father was a Mandalorian and his mother a native human from Onderon. He also hints at the fact that they were killed when he was several years old. What is known that he grew up on the streets of Iziz... historic Iziz, that is. He spent his time reading up on literature on the two dominant cultures on the planet in the past: Beast Riders and the Sith. Much was written about the Beast Riders, but so little was publicly available about the Sith, he attempted to break into the Royal Archives in order to learn more about Onderon's past. However, he was caught by someone who shouldn't have been down there themselves: Prince Cayden Tavers. Cayden agreed to not turn Avery in if Avery did the same. They spent the next couple of years sneaking into the Archives, reading up on the history of Onderon, until it came the day that Avery left for the Royal Naval Academy.

While in the Academy, Avery initially specialized in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), but then switched over to Archaeology and Ancient Cultures after a freak bomb disarming accident costing him his left leg entirely. He now uses a cybernetic leg, paid in full by the Royal Family, and has a limp because of it. After completing his education, he was initially stationed on Dxun in an attempt to crack the code behind the seal of Freedon Nadd's tomb, until he was moved to Mandalore to assist the Mandalorians in an archaeological dig sanctioned by the Onderon Military. It would be on Mandalore that he would earn the nickname "Doctor Jones", stating that his love for ruins and temples and such is undeniably stronger than his common sense.

Fours years into the dig, Avery returned to Onderon for a commission, where he met a young woman by the name of Angie Tavers. The minute he saw her, he fell in love. So, he requested to be transferred back to Onderon, along with the artifacts recovered from Mandalore, in order to utilize the resources the Academy could provide, and to be closer to Angie. He made many attempts to court Angie, all failed until one day, ironically the day Cayden decided to leave Onderon, Angie agrees to go out with him on a date. During the date, they had a lot of fun. They went to one of the fanciest restaurants on Onderon (that were still under Royalist control, that is), took a walk through the moonlit Royal Forest, and had a very enjoyable conversation. However, the evening was spoiled when a guard came up to them during their walk and told them that Cayden had disappeared. Angie, thinking Avery had something to do with this, argued with him about this, smacked him, and ran back with the guard to the Palace. Avery, dumbfounded at what just happened, sat down on a nearby stump and sulked. His only thought after this was: "What did I do wrong?"

Post-First Date between Avery and Angie[edit]

About 3 hours into the evening, he was still sulking on the stump when Angie returned. He saw her, and quickly looked away.

Angie saw him turn away from her, so she stopped several feet from him and asked "Avery? You alright?"

He looked in her direction and said "Oh, just fine... considering that I got accused of something I had nothing to do with, got smacked for it, and oh... ditched on our date! Yes, I am oh-so fine, Angie, thank you for asking!"

"... I'm sorry for hitting you..." she said nervously. "And I'm sorry for accusing you... I was wrong to assume you had something to do with this..."

"You bet your sweet cannoks you were!" Avery snapped back, a tear sliding down his right cheek.

"... I guess there's nothing I can do to ask for a second chance, is there?" Angie asked.

Avery was about to respond when he stopped himself. He turned to look at her and said "You can forgive me."

"What? For what?" she asked, confused.

He got up, walked over to her, and kissed her.

When he let go, she stood there, surprised. Then, surprisingly to both of them, she kissed him back. When Angie let go, she was blushing and said "I forgive you... do you forgive me?"

Avery smiled and said "I forgive you," and kissed her again.

The two of them made out under the starts that evening, until several Palace guards started looking for them and Angie had to head back to the Palace.

Biography Continued[edit]

Afterwards, Angie and Avery would continue to develop their relationship, until about a month later, Angie would put together a team of four soldiers: Major Avery Jones, Captain Lisa Nivix, 2nd Lieutenant Tamran Overnage, and herself. The of them would be sent on mission after mission in an attempt to sabotage the Imperialist Army, their squad named after the legendary Drexl beast.

He would later propose to Angie following the events of Onderonian Liberation, a proposal she accepted. The wedding has yet to be announced, but he believes that they should do it on the Etere Videum, ministered by their commanding officer: Colonel Cayden Tavers.

Personality[edit]

Avery is, by far, one of the strangest soldiers of all-time. He gives himself to his duty completely, yet he also puts family above duty at times. His love for archaeology and ancient cultures gives him insight to the past of the Galaxy, a past that he believes "will help with the future endeavors of the Bimmiel Outpost and, ultimately, Onderon."

He is a strong-willed, strong-headed, and intelligent man who, above all things, values life, equality, love, happiness, and liberty. He expresses his emotions only to those that are close to him, yet is willing to open up with anyone if they give him a chance and listen.

He is in love with, and engaged to, Lt. Col. Angie Tavers, brother of Cayden Tavers and his team leader. Onderon military protocol states that such a relationship is not allowed, however... both have expressed similar desires of Cayden's of splitting away from the Imperialistic government, both for the same ideas and for a relationship.

At the end of the day, Avery is considered the "humanitarian" of the team, earning him the deserving callsign "Magister", meaning "Professor" in Ancient Onderonian.
