History[edit]
Since Nazgul's reopening, the squadron had only participated as a member of a wing and were itching to get their first chance to prove themselves as a single unit. They would get that chance when the scheduled deliveries of supplies from the planet Dubrillion began to drop substantially. Intelligence revealed that a single shuttle had been flying to Hydian Way to meet up with New Republic forces once every month or so and providing them the codes with which gain access to the resources.
The method of attack is simple: the shuttle, denoted as Sienar for the course of the mission as well its escort of TIE Interceptors are to be followed to Hydian Way by Nazgul Squadron and the dreadnaught Vanity. Once there, Nazgul Squadron is to eliminate the opposing fighters allowing a boarding craft from the Vanity to gain control of the Sienar. From here, the shuttle (now under Vast Empire control) and its Nazgul escort will proceed to the rendezvous point and deliver false codes the Republic convoy. The Rebels will be allowed to send and attempt to use this identification, but once found to be fake the Vanity will return to the scene and launch several craft to disable and board the Alliance transports. Nazgul Squadron is to protect the Vanity at this time.
Once completed, commandos will be sent planet-side to capture the commanding officer at the Merska Airbase and gain control of the facility. Meanwhile, Nazgul has been instructed to target and destroy two supply depots that contain enemy weapon caches that would prove dangerous to the commandos' mission. As this mission is achieved, Nazgul will escort the commandos to safety and return with the Vanity to Vast Empire space.

- Ensure the shuttle is boarded and captured.
- Escort the Sienar to the rendezvous point with the Alliance convoy.
- Protect the Vanity and its support craft while they disable and capture the convoy.
- Ensure the Sienar and Vanity survive.
- Destroy the two designated supply depots on the planet Dubrillion.
- Ensure the commandos succeed in capturing the commanding officer at the Merska Airbase.
- Return all personnel home safely.

Outcome[edit]
The mission got off to a great start as the superior fighters of Nazgul Squadron got a jump on the Sienar and its escorts, quickly dispatching three fighters. Using their shields to their advantage, Nazgul made short work of the enemy fighters though the Sienar nearly succeeded in jumping to hyperspace. It was captured in the knick of time, however in the process several enemy mercenaries transferred to the boarding craft and succeeded in escaping towards the planet.
With the first objective completed it was not long before the Republic convoy arrived for the meeting and transferring of codes, which the Sienar promptly delivered. Ordered to engage, Arturus took out a pair of the escorting A-Wings and his wingmates took out a third. Various other [Nazgul Squadron|Nazgul]] pilots destroyed the remaining fighters in the immediate area. Jack and the rest of flight two engaged and destroyed the Rebel fighters who had hung back. Just as they thought they were in the clear, eight additional A-Wings emerged into the area. Splitting up into flights Nazgul Squadron attempted to finish off the enemy threat. Flight two fared well, while Arturus and his wingmates had a bit more trouble. Flying with Shazam, Dirk lost all engines and had to be rescued from hovering A-Wings by way of the Vanity's missiles. The boarding craft succeeded in capturing the Rebel convoy.
Already heavily damaged from the dogfights, Arturus crash landed as they descended into the atmosphere to make their attack run. A large electrical storm reared its head a caused the remaining [[Nazgul pilots to alter their plans. Fighting unstable winds, the majority of Nazgul Squadron maintained course for the generator although Darius disobeyed orders and went back to rescue Arturus. Lightning hit his craft on approach sending him hurtling to the ground as well, though in a bit better condition. With Arturus bandaged up, Darius advanced on an enemy turret.
As the airborne Nazgul approached their target they received word the Vanity had come under attack up in orbit. Determined to finish what they'd been sent to do, DJ234, Jaden, Owoemana, and Shazam each took out a generator dodging fire from anti-air turrets as they went. Hit, Jaden tried to hold out but was unable to do so. DJ soon followed. Encountering enemy fighters and unable to handle them, Shazam and Jack made for a clearing planet-side. Meanwhile, Arturus fought the weather as he waited for Darius to return with the speeder he had captured.
With the entire squadron grounded Darius and Arturus made for a nearby Imperial base, while Shazam and Jack sought shelter in a cave only to find it infested with unfriendly animals. A report of a Rebel incursion at the base resulted in Jaden and DJ being sent to check it out. As the storm died down, the squadron attempted to reunite though Shazam and Jack encountered the 'Seroster' and his cat friends in the cave. The four Nazgul pilots at the base managed to hijack TIEs equipped with 'cloaking devices', the same as four the enemy had taken off in.
Once the entire squadron got back into the air, they received word that one of their captured freighters, the Vatigan was being targeted by the escaped mercenaries from the Seinar. As they finished off the enemy fighters and approached the freighter, Lieutenant Cruek sent word they had regained control of the freighter. The task force ordered a withdrawal from the system and returned to Vast Empire space, mission successful.
After Effects[edit]
Upon Darius' inspection, the 'cloaking devices' were revealed to be in fact mimic devices, large 'suits' that while they made the ships invisible, were not nearly as reliable especially in close proximity to the electrical storm.
Being a perfectionist, Arturus could not stand the fact that he had been shot down and made plans to devise new ways to outwit his opponents and in doing so, stay in the air.
