The Bloodstripe Conspiracy, also known as the Corellian Insurrection, the Corellian Incident, or the Corellian Crisis, was the period in 10 ABY when decorated members of the Corellian security forces allied themselves with the Sacorrian Triad and seized control of the Corellian sector, seceded from the New Republic, and forced the Galaxy to comply with a complete self-quarantine of the Corellian System at the height of the Plague Wars. A series of insurrections throughout the Five Brothers — Corellia, Selonia, Drall and the Double Worlds of Talus and Tralus — and a superweapon in Centerpoint Station would allow the conspirators to carve out their own mini-empire, with Thrackan Sal-Solo as their chosen Head of State.

Origins[edit]

Corellia and her four sister worlds had once been a vibrant example of the multicultural ideals of the Core Worlds. Corellia itself played a major role in the foundation of the Rebel Alliance, thanks to the actions of heroic figures like ex-Senator Garm Bel Iblis, scoundrel Han Solo, and starfighter ace Wedge Antilles, and the planet was famous throughout the galaxy for its shipyards and the Corellian Engineering Corporation. However, after the Battle of Endor, the Corellian system began to quake under the pressure of change.

Six months following the death of Emperor Palpatine, Imperial Grand Admirals Danetta Pitta and Josef Grunger fought a pitched battle for control of the system in the space above Tralus. Pitta's Torpedo Sphere and Grunger's Star Dreadnought Aggressor were both destroyed, and both Grand Admirals were killed. Their conflict sowed seeds of divisiveness, and after just two Diktats, Corellia fell into the hands of the New Republic.

Under New Republic leadership, though, Corellia declined. With the Plague Wars raging, the Sector became more and more isolated from the rest of the galaxy, its two formerly lucrative trade routes drew in far less income, and businesses relocated elsewhere in the Galaxy. The populace grew restless, and the Sacorrian Triad took advantage of the situation, secretly amassing a sizable fleet, and funding resistance groups throughout the Five Brothers. One such violent political group was the Human League on Corellia, led by Thrackan Sal-Solo, a cousin of Han Solo.

Making matters worse, Corellia was represented in the New Republic Senate by only one member, much to the annoyance of some of the native Drall and Selonians. By 10 ABY, the Corellian Sector was governed by Frozian Governor-General Micamberlecto, who was seen by the natives as little more than an ineffectual figurehead for an out-of-touch foreign government that spent Corellian taxes seemingly anywhere but in the Corellian Sector.

The New Republic Intelligence Service became wary of Corellia and its mounting instability.
