"This ship has been generously given to us by my really good friend in the Vast Empire Navy, Stewart-Power, for our use as a Deep-Space Exploration Ship. It has been modified to meet Bimmiel Military Starship standards, making it the equivalent of a small destroyer in the Imperial Military. She is the platform from which we will send forth word of our cause. It is where we will make ourselves noticed to the galaxy. It is where we will rekindle the long forgotten fires of the ancestors. She is, without a doubt, the future of Bimmiel. She is our Destiny."
Colonel Cayden Tavers on Bimmiel after his trip to Ilum with three VE pilots.

Characteristics[edit]

The ship's bridge houses stations that allow 4 members of the crew to monitor and operate most ship systems. The crew quarters, located along the neck of the ship, are spacious enough to allow the crew and any passengers they take aboard to live comfortably during long voyages. The lounge holds an autochef system to help meet the crew's nutritional needs as well as a holographic game table and other entertainment systems to keep the minds and bodies active between destinations. In addition to the engineering section, the main body of the ship also holds a three-deck cargo bay large enough to hold a small repulsorlift vehicle, which can leave the ship through the ventral cargo elevator.

To help make the lives of technicians easier when repairs need to be made during flight, a network of crawlways was built under the main deck that can access virtually any part of the ship. Despite their convenient use, their only access point is through the gunwell just inside the front area of the cargo bay. Anyone trying to gain entry into the maintenance tunnels anywhere else must cut through the deck plating.

The Destiny comes equipped with two Quad-Plasma Burst Cannons, one on top and one on the bottom of the main body of the ship, under the belief that the weapons should provide sufficient defense against any dangers it may face. There is also, under the ship's nose, a mounted missile tube armed with ten Mark II Nuclear Missiles, each missile capable of penetrating the hull of a Victory-II-class Star Destroyer.

History[edit]

Crew[edit]

Sylvester Siler[edit]

Captain Sylvester Siler on Bimmiel

Captain Sylvester Siler was, formerly, an Onderonian engineer who was stationed on Bimmiel after an accident on Onderon involving several misfiring pistons in several of the tanks, resulting in him losing his left arm completely. Siler is a gifted engineer, but is just simply unlucky. He is a brilliant officer, and proved himself on more than one occasion by completing repairs on the Etere Videum rapidly and effectively, making him an excellent candidate to command the Destiny.

Siler is a very diligent worker, a fine officer, and a brilliant commander. His values match those of Bimmiel: knowledge, strength, science, exploration, and liberty. Overall, he is a very respectable and respectful man. He does, on occasion, crack down hard, but only when necessary. He doesn't like having to be mean, but will do so if he has to.
