'''Background History'''

My story isn’t one that is too terribly deep, nor is it one that is too terribly interesting. I lived an ordinary life as an ordinary child on Celdaru. I progressed through childhood and adolescence as normally as any child could. Only a few mishaps marred my way from the blissful innocence of youth to the harsh reality of adulthood, but isn’t that normal?

For me, life was boring.

Throughout the years, I promised myself I’d become something more. I dreamed about it, day or night. I dreamt of becoming something more than just that girl from Celdaru. It wasn’t long until I decided what.

I was born two years after the fall of the Empire. My planet was one of those that were invaded. Though this was before my times, I have heard much about it through oral history. ‘General’ Sulamar claimed to have lead the invasion; he even had the tenacity and gall to call himself “the scourge of Celdaru”. Such incompetence deserved such a death.

On every planet that was invaded, there were families that liked the Empire and those that didn’t. Mine was the latter. For as long as I can remember, my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and every person closely related me despised the Empire and the Stormtroopers. I was raised that way. I was taught at an early age to hate and despise them as my fathers and forefathers had. Though, as I grew older, I held a secret admiration for the men in white armor. It was this withheld esteem that lead to my interest in the Army.

As soon as I was old enough, I left Celdaru. As cliché as it seems now, I left to find myself. I left behind everything, even my birth name. I shortened it from its original Ievita-LaRue Kaline Agliono Olphert (Kaline being my grandmother and Agliono my grandfather) to a more concise Ievit Olphert. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and it seems to me that it was the right decision to make then. It opened a lot of doors and made opportunities possible. I traveled from planet to planet, testing myself in various ways. I learned much over the years: bits and pieces of various martial arts (though I was never much good), how to handle simple weapons, things like that. My adventures eventually lead to the Imperial Remnant’s Army.

I barely completed basic training before I realized that the Remnant wasn’t for me. I don’t know what it was that assisted my decision, but I made up my mind to leave. I left as soon as possible and continued my trek across the galaxy.

It wasn’t long until word of a different army caught my ears. Through word of mouth, mainly thanks to gossips, I heard about the Vast Empire and their Army. After much deliberation, I opted to give the military life one more go.
