Whoops?

Koshak's "ingenuity" unfortunately more often than not causes unforeseen consequences, usually unforeseen by virtue of a blind eye, but unforeseen nonetheless. Numerous lives were lost, but nothing could compare to his brief stint as a head engineer on board an asteroid waypoint station of Talso 9534. The job started innocently enough, fixing air scrubbers and making sure power remained at constant levels, but eventually the desire for the grand creped into the mind of Koshak and he was going beyond the description of his job with various "tweaks" throughout the station to increase efficiency.

That was not enough for his ambitions, and soon he was fitting engines upon the exterior of the asteroid to allow it to maneuver and avoid potential collisions... and then came his "Eureka!" moment... hyperspace asteroid. Yes, you read that right, an asteroid space station capable of hyperspace travel. Technically the budget didn't allow such a thing, but with some lies and third-hand parts Koshak was able to jury-rig an entire system to propel Tolso 9534 into hyperspace.

Needless to say, this insane idea was not meant to be, but at least Koshak had the foresight to be on another station when the power to the hyperdrive engines was engaged, causing the asteroid to disappear from known space with all 7 million inhabitants. No one is still quite certain what happened to the asteroid, in fact it may well be still engaged in hyperspace, but most are willing to assume that the explosion of a star not too far away shortly after is not a coincidence.

On the Run

With the alleged burden of 7 million deaths on his head, Koshak was not quite the most welcomed person in any setting, frequently having to shoot his way just to get through customs checkpoint. The bounty didn't help his case either, sending quite a few unsavory individuals and groups hot on his tail. He survived and fulfilled his obsession with tinkering by salvaging, jumping from wasteyard planet to debris belt back to wasteyard planet near constantly just to shake off the authorities.

Somewhere onboard a "repossessed" ship, Koshak was chatting up with a fellow runner from the NR, whom was apparently seeking the call of a "Pirate King" attempting to assemble a company of brigands. Seeing it as a chance to get back into "established innovation" Koshak quickly agreed to chart the course over to Osk 91. There was a bit more shooting involved as his bounty had certainly preceeded him, but he managed to make it to the Pirate King himself, whom was probably the only man in the galaxy who understood Koshak's method behind the madness, and quickly presented a "Full Pardon" of past crimes as long as Koshak would work in his "propaganda, research, development, and shit" department.
