Current Status

The Courage is currently based off of the training platform Cappadocious. It has served the Vast Empire Naval Academy in several mock battles and combat exercises, and currently serves as a training vessel for prospective ship captains. As such its crew changes frequently.

Operational History

Courage, part of the Warden-class Light Cruiser line, was built at the Fondor shipyards in 4 ABY. Originally serving as an Imperial Customs vessel, the Courage was destined for a life of enforcing import taxes, until the Battle of Endor. Following the chaotic break-up of the Empire, the crew of the Courage defected to the Vast Empire, taking the small vessel with them.

The Courage had its original crew re-assigned, and the ship itself was given over to VENA for use as a training ship. Its first use in this capacity was under the command of Pherik Zail, who captained it during an ill-fated escort mission.

Watches

The Primary Watch is the one overseen by the Captain himself, and comprises his preferred crew configuration for combat situations (making membership in it something of an honour). The watch is 8 hours long out of 24, starting at 0600 hours, and by old Imperial tradition is tied to the current time on Coruscant.

The Tertiary Watch is a reduced crew, for it tends to be the ship’s ‘night’, beginning at 2200 ship time. Sometimes called the Graveyard Shift on other ships, this is discouraged on the Courage, for it reinforces (the admittedly correct) view that this Watch is for the least capable of the ship’s crew.
