Overview[edit]
Commanded by Dracule "Drac" Mihawk, the Mon Calamari Knights Anti-Piracy Taskforce bears a name as blunt as its purpose. Its ships, flying the MCKV prefix, patrol the spacelanes of the sectors around Dac in search of those who would prey on their fellow spacefarers. Little is known about the group aside from this. Part of that is due to the Taskforce's refusal to communicate with bystanders or local authorities- the only communications to be intercepted from them to date are short conversations with their foes and occasional battle chatter. Various planetary authorities have demanded investigation into what they call a "vigilante navy," but to date the government of Dac -and, by extension, their allies in the New Republic's Senate- have blocked all attempts.
Taskforce Resources[edit]
Ships[edit]
- 2x Gozanti Cruiser: Whaladon and Styanax
- The main-line combat ships of the fleet, these refitted civilian freighter models make excellent pirate hunting ships. Their popularity as freighters also makes them ideal as bait for traps. Of course, with all the weapons loaded onto them, they've got all the teeth they need without any outside help.
- 2x HT-220 Medium Transport: Keelkana and Leviathin
- Medium freighters converted into pocket carriers, they're responsible for carrying most of the ground and starfighter forces into battle.
- 2x Imperial Customs Frigates: Cry of Victory and Cry of Defiance
- Employed as pickets, scouts, and patrol craft, these contraband Imperial warships make themselves useful in a variety of ways. During a serious fight they can most often be found guarding the Gozantis' flanks or leading a flanking attack of their own.
- 2x Ye-4 Gunboats: Demonsquid and Devilsquid
- 1x Skipray Blastboat GAT-12h: Amphi-Hydra
Starfighters[edit]
- 1x E-wing Advanced Starfighter: Krakana
- This advanced starfighter is Dracule's personal combat ship. Equipped with top of the line shielding, weapons, and electrical systems, it is kept in absolute peak condition at all times in its berth on the fleet's flagship, the Whaladon. Few craft flying today can compete with it, as few pilots can compete with its master. Together they're a force to be reckoned with.
- 1x Chakram Starfighter
- A powerful, well equipped craft, this capable fighter is traditionally manned by the highest rated pilot in the MCKV fleet and flies as wingship to the Krakana. It too stays aboard the Whaladon when not in use.
- 12x Chir'daki "Deathseed" Starfighters
- A powerful craft for its modest price tag, this fighter combines the TIE line's traditional ball cockpit with an X-wing's S-foils. The result is a craft with great speed and superb maneuverability. A skilled pilot can make it dance through waves of fire that would riddle other craft with holes. The Deathseeds in the MCKV fleet have been upgraded with much stronger shields and the addition of a proton torpedo launcher containing two missiles.
Ground Forces[edit]
- 2x MAAT Gunships
- Berthing on one or the other of the fleet's two modified Ht-220s, these assault troopships can deploy and drop infantry squads on enemy targets that, for whatever reason, the primary fleet can't deal with at the time.
- 4x Infantry Squads
- Comprised of eight men carrying a variety of personal weapons, each squad rides in an MAAT on their way to any enemy base, ship, or position that needs to be assaulted. Trained and equipped primarily for assault and demolitions, they're a serious threat to whatever their objective may be.
Bases & Controlled Systems[edit]
No information is currently available on what locations and territory the Anti-piracy Taskforce calls its own, if any. While there must certainly be staging points and supply depots in place, their locations are unkown.
